If the IAT sensor never sees the injection, how would you monitor the temperature? Like in a direct port setup. You wouldn't be able to read/monitor the difference in IATs. If im missing something, please tell me. Is there some kind of way around it, or wha?

Sounds like you're blowing out your spark.. On my old sr20 setup, i had a bad coil and my engine would shutter really bad over ~8-10 psi. Kinda felt like the motor was dead. anything over that is entirely dependent on how "GOOD" your tune is...and even still, it's like walking on thin ice..

It's not a resistor... it's an inline fuse...use heavy gauge wire......like -4, -2, 0 gauge.etc
