Re: New Isis V3 KA-T Bottom mount Manifold in the Works

I'd like to see a good bottom mount with a T3 flange.
If they're already available please post a link, I haven't looked real hard lately.

Re: New firmware 3.3.0 troubles! High idle

It's not a motor, it's a solenoid valve, the PWM actually vibrates it at specific frequencies that open it the amount required to let the desired amount of air through to maintain your idle.

Re: New firmware 3.3.0 troubles! High idle

I'll see if I can get my settings posted tonight.
That loud hum is most likely the IACV, if the frequency is set incorrectly in the idle control settings it can make the sound you describe.

Re: New firmware 3.3.0 troubles! High idle

Well I changed the idle control settings to PWM type(2-3 wire) last night. This morning I started it up and it never kicked up to 1500 it stayed low actually too low at 500+-. So I will see if it happens again if so I think the problem. Will be solved. This is why I asked what version you were runn...

Re: New firmware 3.3.0 troubles! High idle

What version of the firmware are you upgrading from?
Have you tried disconnecting the throttle cable to ensure it isn't holding the plate open a small amount?
What about testing for vacuum leaks? I assume you've done it but it's always worth asking.

Re: Trying to get my Ka-t to start Diypnp Megasquirt help

Which firmware version are you running? The 3.3 betas have the ability to use the timing to help stabilize the idle. I fought the idle for years but it's been extremely smooth since switching to 3.3 beta. It's currently at 3.3beta18 but 19 should be coming out fairly soon, I'd wait for it if you are...

Re: brain crower 96mm stroke crankshaft

Just how high do you want to rev? I regularly rev my stock crank to 7000rpm on autocross courses with no bearing problems. I also don't "notice" any fall off in power that can be attributed to power robbing harmonics, although it is undoubtedly happening. Just for completeness I'm running ...

My master cylinder is in the way. I was looking at other masters and found one with the lines coming off and going toward the fender not the engine . I found one off a d21 4wd non and that has lines in the right config for what I need. Its a different bore though going from 7/8 of the stock one to ...

Even if you flash back to 3.2.4 you can always put the 3.3 beta back in once you get it running. I've had my car running for years and it took me 3 attempts with the 3.3 beta version to get it running correctly. For me it was the new uploader attempting to retain the sensor calibrations that caused ...

Getting kick back with the stock trigger disk is not unusual, it's the reason most of us switch to a different one. Switching to COP before you get this nailed down is only going to add more variables and confusion into the mix, it won't eliminate the distributor and requires good sync and a bunch o...

There may be more going here than a simple flipped disk. The tooth log he collected showed missing teeth which leads me to believe there may be a noise problem contributing the no sync issue.

The ECU should pressurize the fuel system on power up and perform a priming pulse. Do you here the pump run for a few seconds immediately after you turn the key on? Do you have an oil pressure switch inline with the fuel pump power feed? If so that's most likely where the trouble is, depending on ho...

Did you replace the stock fuel pump, filter, lines, etc..? Those old tanks tended to develop rust which then plugs the filter. I had this happen in my 240Z when I swapped the LT1 into it. I solved it by replacing the entire fuel system. Used a 2001 Camaro fuel tank with an in tank pump and replaced ...

I can understand you not wanting to recreate the conditions any more than necessary but keep in mind when it happens both spark and fuel are cut due to loss of sync. This is essentially the same thing that a hard rev limiter does, it feels dramatic but shouldn't do any damage to the engine. If you d...

It could mean one of the wires connected to the distributor is loose or the resistor isn't in place. I don't have one of these PNP units and haven't installed one so I have a few questions. 1. Ok, got them this time. :) It looks to me like your system has a bunch of noise on the wire(s) connecting the CAS the the PNP unit which is causing missed teeth. It would be easier to see if you switch the tooth logger to collect 4000ms in a chunk rather than the 1000ms as you had it set. What you s...

Ok, disregard the prior post, I got ahead of myself and wrote that before I knew how to read these logs. I think what the composite logger is showing is your system has noise on the signal from the CAS to the PNP unit which causes an extra tooth to be "seen" which confuses the system gener...

The next step is to verify your timing is where you think it is. Set the timing to fixed and 20* in TunerStudio, then using a timing light while it's idling adjust the distributor. I assume you know which mark on the pulley is 20* of timinig advance. Then set the timing back to "Use Table"...
