Re: Flooding when cold
Think I got it figured out, turns out one of the leads to the fuse box was loose where I extended the battery/alternator wire for battery relocation. It was partially pulled out of it's ring terminal, so I think when it was cold it was contracted and making a poor connection. I've got it secured wit...

Re: Flooding when cold
Checked the o-rings, all four injectors are bone dry when priming the pump. I got her back to starting up and idling albeit very rough, had to do so by reloading a stock S14 tune, corrected for injectors and MAF (All done through Nistune) On top of this, I had to crank up the fuel pressure to ~56psi...

Flooding when cold
95 S14 Ka24de-t z32MAF Nistune S15sr440 injectors Car has always had difficulty starting on the first try in the cold; takes a bit longer to fire up and once going runs rough and burns off a lot of extra fuel, but usually runs fine after a minute or two of idling. I moved out to PA last summer and i...

My money is on a bad injector O-ring, they aren't reusable. Take the rail off the intake, throw a couple paper towels underneath it, and turn the key on (don't start the car) If any fuel leaks out and hits the paper towel, you've got bad o-rings/fuel leak. Paper towel should be bone dry. And I know ...

I'd put money on fake, the domed screws at the top are almost a dead giveaway. True HKS are noticeably different, and that's one of the few separations that is still overlooked by knock-off manufacturers, things like the copyright logos and holo markings are common on knock-offs. I'd say the other d...

This is almost word-for-word everything I bought 4 years ago when I decided to pull the hammer on fi. As walper said, the injectors are small and limiting, but for the stock boost of the T25 it will be fine. The maf should work fine, 8bit has hosted tunes using even the stock maf with 370s. BUT... 4...

What is your exhaust situation or chance of exhaust leaks around the O2 area? I've ran an open downpipe which caused the o2 sensor to read leaner than it was, and I've had the tiniest leaks in the exhaust elbow cause as much as 3-4afrs off... Can't hear or see any exhaust leaks, though I haven't li...

I'm back at this due to nice weather: I did a thorough boost leak test, no major issues and fixed some small ones. The line between the boost source and wastegate is not leaking. I can run some compressed air through the line to open the wastegate, it begins to open as I increase pressure, but it ta...

Take a look at the water pump and if not the pump maybe look for small leaks in hoses. When my water pump went bad, it began leaking through the weep hole only under pressure. The result: I would bleed my cooling system, then a week later the car would begin to slowly overheat and I'd find air in th...

http://www.enjukuracing.com/product_images/t/378/rs3871-1__30203_std.jpg The line to the wastegate is basically as short as possible, with little to no chance of of a leak. But then again, I did a leak test before ever starting the car, maybe a hole has appeared once everything was warmed up or som...

so that means i wouldnt need to cut anything again right id just switch mafs and use the same pig tail ? yea that is great . And yea i will be going blow thru just to avoid that whole (unmetered) air thing cause im not recirculating the bov and i dont want that stumble coming down from high rpms. W...

Boost Spiking
I've got an Isis RS3871, it came with an adjustable wastegate. I've lengthened the rod to turn down the boost. If I build boost slowly, like in 5th gear low rpm, it will build fine to its limit, but in faster-boost-building-scenarios like WOT in 2nd i am getting huge 15+psi spikes (so thankful for o...

exhaust leak near the sensor will definitely mess up your afr reading. When my car normally idles at 15, it was reading 18-19 even with a relatively small leak after the sensor, and very spastic. I'd recommend sorting that leak out, you want that wideband reading as accurately as possible if you are...

The stock ECU will not retard timing enough to handle predetonation, the knock sensing system is rather crude, nothing more than a microphone that converts a signal to a voltage, and in higher rpms it has difficulty picking up knock from engine sound... and even then the the ecu's solution is to swi...

12 psi is fine for the turbo, I ran 11 psi with 13 psi spikes on my T25, like shift_down said watch your fuel injectors/pump/maf (and definitely wait until you have a tuning solution). I would be most worried about maxing out those injectors, I was running around 80-90% duty cycle when i hit 13psi o...

The 5in 5out doesnt work because the cancellation is only theoretically true, it's not true in practice (I've tried it) Find the settings that work for your car and verify afr's with a wideband. If 4in6out makes it run right, it should be fine. Are you running the maf draw through or blow through? R...
