Re: Flooding when cold

Think I got it figured out, turns out one of the leads to the fuse box was loose where I extended the battery/alternator wire for battery relocation. It was partially pulled out of it's ring terminal, so I think when it was cold it was contracted and making a poor connection. I've got it secured wit...

Re: Flooding when cold

Checked the o-rings, all four injectors are bone dry when priming the pump. I got her back to starting up and idling albeit very rough, had to do so by reloading a stock S14 tune, corrected for injectors and MAF (All done through Nistune) On top of this, I had to crank up the fuel pressure to ~56psi...

Flooding when cold

95 S14 Ka24de-t z32MAF Nistune S15sr440 injectors Car has always had difficulty starting on the first try in the cold; takes a bit longer to fire up and once going runs rough and burns off a lot of extra fuel, but usually runs fine after a minute or two of idling. I moved out to PA last summer and i...

The valve cover doesn't get nearly as hot as, say, the head or block and can be painted with pretty much any type of paint. Find something you like and just make sure you do good prep-work and it should turn out great

My money is on a bad injector O-ring, they aren't reusable. Take the rail off the intake, throw a couple paper towels underneath it, and turn the key on (don't start the car) If any fuel leaks out and hits the paper towel, you've got bad o-rings/fuel leak. Paper towel should be bone dry. And I know ...

I'd put money on fake, the domed screws at the top are almost a dead giveaway. True HKS are noticeably different, and that's one of the few separations that is still overlooked by knock-off manufacturers, things like the copyright logos and holo markings are common on knock-offs. I'd say the other d...

I've got the same strut bar but for S14 (they are slightly different) but even at the highest point there's at least an inch of gap between strut bar and vc. I would assume something weirds going on with the motor mounts

Your impression is correct, it's not very reliable, you will have to control timing via retard at dizzy in order to not blow motor, and even then you'll probably still blow it.
Don't go cheap on a tune, it will determine whether or not your car is reliable.

This is almost word-for-word everything I bought 4 years ago when I decided to pull the hammer on fi. As walper said, the injectors are small and limiting, but for the stock boost of the T25 it will be fine. The maf should work fine, 8bit has hosted tunes using even the stock maf with 370s. I'm back at this due to nice weather: I did a thorough boost leak test, no major issues and fixed some small ones. The line between the boost source and wastegate is not leaking. shot in the dark but could you "gift" the car to someone or sell it for like $20 and they sell it back to you and just re-register it? You'd have to pay to re-title and everything but bound to be cheaper then what sounds like a $365 late fee

theoretically: you can run it as high as you can get it
Realistically: I think 14psi is its limit in terms of efficiency, past that you are doing nothing but pumping heat into your motor

N60 is cheaper than N62 and tend to be much easier to find in junkyards, and as said, above uses the same wiring as an N62 which makes a great starting point. Even if the power rating is similar to the stock maf (going off Nistune, at least), the N60 has a 3" housing which is less restrictive a...

I've got an Isis RS3871, it came with an adjustable wastegate. I've lengthened the rod to turn down the boost. If I build boost slowly, like in 5th gear low rpm, it will build fine to its limit, but in faster-boost-building-scenarios like WOT in 2nd i am getting huge 15+psi spikes (so thankful for o...

exhaust leak near the sensor will definitely mess up your afr reading. When my car normally idles at 15, it was reading 18-19 even with a relatively small leak after the sensor, and very spastic. I'd recommend sorting that leak out, you want that wideband reading as accurately as possible if you are...

The original setup I had cost about $1500 for a t25, manifold, injectors, fmic, exhaust, and nistune which outperformed stock sr20's
Since the majority of the 240 community views the ka as garbage they are selling KA's for dirt cheap, you can get a running motor for less than $500
