when i did my SOHC to DOHC i had used an s14 long block bc i had a donor car. I used all s13 wiring and manifolds though. I did end up using the s14 MAF though. All i did was solder the pigtail to the harness much like doing a N62 MAF swap. It had no negative effects that I know of. I drove it like ...

94 D21 KA24e and 89 240sx KA24e

Hey I just wanted to verify the differences in these two single cams. I just picked up an 89 coupe for 300 bucks but needs a new engine. I just finished putting an engine in my 94 d21(will be for sale soon). The d21 had a blow headgasket and rod bearing noise. This 240 has a heavy bottom end noise. ...

Generally a timing chain will start to make noise as it loosens up rather than just breaking on the spot. So like you said something most likely came loose or a tensioner failed or a guide wore out too much.

The stroker is going to require more fuel because there is more air inside the cylinder due to the volume change. You are still going to tune for the same AFRs as you would normally. Have you ever heard "no replacement for displacement" thats why you are going to make more power because yo...

The compression ratio is a RATIO of two different volumes at to different points. You have your volume at TDC and BDC. Thats how you get your ratio. The area of the cylinder remains the same throughout, its the height at which the piston is at which is changing. The compression ratio should stay the...

I figured instead of cluttering with another thread I would just add to this one. I switched everything back to stock ECU, injectors, BEGi FPR, and MAF to see if the AFRs would be normal but its still rich reading a solid 9.5 to 9.6. Vaccum is around 19 (thought it should be higher), and its idling ...

I did some more tests on it. I pulled the rail and pressurized the system to check for leaks at the injectors and let it sit like for a while and developed no leaks. I had a BEGI fuel pressure regulator that I used before the tune still hooked up, so I disconnected that to see if that would make a d...

Make sure ground that is originally shielded goes to maf only and the other ground can be grounded to chasis. Don't put them together, I personally experienced a problem with this. I got a tune from EFI Specialists. It wasnt tuned with the adj fuel pressure regulator in mind. What I meant by the custom tune was that he tuned it for the stuff I wanted rather than his normal tunes. I asked for 650cc injectors, Z32 maf to be run as a blow thru, and that I was going to run 12-15 p...

Running Issues

I started having this problem once I finally got my tune in. So the issue I figured has to be between the injectors, maf, or ecu. Anyways heres my set-up.
