Re: Filling bolt holes in cast iron

Your best bet is to braze it, Preheat to 400F or so then fill with any brazing rod, wrap with a welding blanket to slow the cooling. Once down to room temp grind it flush. If you melt the cast iron (when you weld, not braze) the high carbon in the material forms extremely hard nodules that crack whe...

I used 3/16 brake line. Bend it up easily, all metal, fittings available everywhere. Been on the car since 2001 without a problem.

11 years as a daily driver before the (stock) head gasket went. The head gasket failed because the fuel pump wiring detiorated and I ran lean.

Re: Green loctite, has anyone used this stuff before?

It's a common myth that loctite is anerobic. Put it in a vacuum and it won't cure either.
Loctite uses the free ions from certain metals (of which stainless has almost none) to trigger the cure.
If you try it on regular steel you'll find it cures just fine.

Are you on a tuned KA DE ECU and stock wiring harness? If you are, why not use the internal fan controller and stock relay? I wrote a program a long time ago for setting the fan turn on and off temp in a ROM tune. I'vr been running dual 12" fans on the stock wiring for seven years or so with no...

You've got a boot leak after the throttle plate. Lean at high vacuum is usually a leak.
It also possible that your O2 sensor is bad.

The FSM states that oil pressure should be above 10psi at idle and between 60 and 70 psi at 3K rpm. What size restrictor do you have (if any) and where is it? I run a 3/16 brake hard line for my turbo oil feed and I haven't had any problems in 13 years. There has got to be a restriction in your turb...

Re: ebay cast iron top mount issues

I've had a RevHard (what the ebay cast manifolds were copied from) on my car since 2001 with no cracks (so far!)
Do not slice the reinforcement bar between the runners. It keeps the manifold from trying to twist.
Slot the bolt holes like the stock manifold to keep it from cracking.

NEVER up the redline on stock rods. The stress on the rods is to the square of RPM, you're just looking for trouble.
