Solved

So I figured out my problem only after investing in a $20 7/16-24 (also m11x1) tap. I have been given the incorrect fitting twice! I purchased a $92 oil line kit from stealthmode performance, that came with the incorrect fitting and received a second incorrect one from a local supplier. The one from...

Oil fitting won't thread in to T25 inlet

Hey guys, I've tried searching this one but no such luck. I was just finishing up my turbo install over the weekend and ran in to a total show stopper. My oil line fitting won't thread in to my turbo. I am using an SR20 Garrett T25 turbo and 7/16-24 IF fitting. I have tried not only 1 but 2, 7/16 fi...

Alot of things are going to influence your acheiving those goals beyond which turbo you pick. Your tune is very important, and Iwould suggest doing some bottom end work if you plan to hit the 400hp range and have hopes of it being a reliable dd. What other supporting mods are you looking at doing? I...

It might be a turbo oil seal, or too much oil pressure running into the turbo, which ruined the seals... and double check all your fittings and oil lines/connections to verify nothing is sneaking out there.

I think that i need to do alot more reading on the tunable type ecu set ups. I am not very good when it comes to that stuff. The bench tune ones just seemed easier. Thanks for the help. A bench tune does seem easier at first glance, I was dead set on using one when I first started planning on boost...

3. Rom tuning or something that involves ignition adjustability is your best route to take. Fuel is only half of the tuning battle. does MSD make anything that can adjust Ignition, timing etc.? when using a SAFC? I only want to reach around 200-230 hp. 1. Agree^ should clear.
2.Quality? It is just another ebay turbo, therefore hit and miss, better to get a used sr T25 or T28.

Banjo bolts are for the coolant feed and return. And the oil should flow top to bottom once mounted as oil return relies upon gravity. As far as running oil lines that depends upon your routing, you'll need longer line if you go behind the block probably closer to 40", if you go straight over y...

Try this: http://www.ka-t.org/forums/search.php J/K, it all depends on your final goals, but every car is different and fine tuning is part of the game. If you considering getting a bench tune (JWT, efi specialists, enthalpy) and may end up needing an SAFC for that fine tuning, you may as well buy a...

Well I am going to go back to a T03/04E idea. It's cheaper and I think a better turbo for my needs. Many had recommended the 2871R or 3076R, but I think those are going to take away from the commuter fun factor. How is going with the larger turbo, therefore more lag, going to add to the fun factor ...

Well you have stated that the exhaust doesn't smell sweet, doesn't appear to have excess fuel...so therefore it has to be the turbo, probably seals and therefore your not draining right or have too much pressure coming in to the turbo. I think this is the general concensus.

I would say standard rebuild kit for most of the standard gasket, and just buy forged pistons and rods like JE/Eagle maybe and bearings could be anything. Get the rotating assembly balanced and go. You should be able to stay in the range of your budget and be fairly reliable.
