Looking at your e-brake setup, I have to worry about your leg! Having done some dirt track racing before, I will tell you that if you smack the wall, or whatever, the bolt holding that lever is going to ruin your day!

Re: Tearing down old engine... Help identifying crank markin

Umm, why do you need to know anything about the crank markings. If crank is ok, no wear, or spun bearing then measure main and rod journals accordingly. If you are going to have the mains and rod journals ground, then your machine shop will help determine what size bearings you need.

The you break the glaze on the cylinders. Adding a crosshatch pattern, allowing the rigs to reseat. Almost n...

Re: Xcessive Z32 Adapter Failure - Do Not Buy

Just an observation, no crank to adapter dowel pin hole, or adapter to flywheel as well. Could this be an issue causing failure? I have seen bolts sheer off, bet never a dowel pin.

Also was wondering if you happened to flow bench the heads prior and post work? Love to see some numbers..

Wet shot only, keep it on the rich side to start, work towards correct AFR. Im sure if you call some of the well established companies(ie NOS) they could tell you exactly what you need. Experience is a wonderful thing.

Damn they look like sh*t. You could polish the nicks scratches out. but is that gonna effect clearance on the cam? Putting it in as it is will gouge your head and caps. I would send them back, but if that is not an option emery cloth and some patience.

Sounds like a vacuum leak in your brake booster?? When you trun the A/C on idle is supposed to increase. Compensates for the load of the A/C. Plug hose going to the booster, take it for a spin. Be careful, no power assist brakes.

The only major difference between aluminum and cast iron, is weight, and heat displacement. If you had two heads that were identical with the exception of the material they were made of, they would flow exactly the same.
