New Tomei Manifold is finished.
Forgive me if this has been posted, but considering that the KA-T scene has gotten pretty cold lately, this is a nice addition. http://www.tomeiusa.com/_2003web-catalogue/000_expreme/each-product/turbo_ex_mani_ka24.html It's casted too, so it should last a long time. Primary focus is turbo response ...

Re: Tomei still at it!!!
I don't know if this has already been posted... but here's the manifold done:
http://www.tomeiusa.com/_2003web-catalo ... _ka24.html
It's casted iron with matched ports and divided outlet - meant for fast response vs gross HP/High end power.
I like it!

Re: knock sensor issue
Enthalpy does keep the knock sensor signal, and it will toss the car into limp mode if the signal is bad. In short get a new subharness from wiringspecialties, if that doesn't do it replace the knock sensor, if problem persists bypass the stock wire and run one straight to the ECU and make sure you ...

Good work! We should all start contributing to it. Even little guides like "checking your intake for boost leaks & how to make a boost leak tester" can help a ton of people. I want to do one for stabbing distributors correctly the easy way - there's a lot of guides and each one has a l...

To help answer some of your Qs: "...but I'm wondering if there is any documentation of the issue on legal turbo kits." There are no legal turbo kits for the KA-T. Greddy submitted a CARB certification and they got rejected. The only way to have a high HP engine is to swap something like a ...

If you are referring to the gasket that mounts the oil pickup tube directly to the under side of the block you will need this gasket: http://www.thenismoshop.com/Nissan-Factory-OEM-Oil-Pickup-Strainer-Gasket-15053-1E400--Nissan-240SX-SR20DET_p_787.html I can confirm that it's the same one for SR, KA...

GTX2867r w/ .86AR Plus Housing (much bigger than regular ones)
10psi daily driving (I live in Los Angeles, so with our non-moving traffic I hardly ever get to boost it)
19Mpgs city, 27 Highway on long trips where the freeways are actually ***** free of traffic
Tomei 740cc injectors

Re: OBX turbo manifold?
What do you mean you can't find any good top mounted manifolds?
Xcessice Manufacturing, DOC Race, and Blueridge Motorsports all make a good top mount t3/t4 top mount.
Unless you meant the "best of the cheap" then yeah that OBX one will be one of the better ones.

I remember seeing a thread like that on here about someone installing 11mm studs on a KA head.
It was on the KA-T Picture Thread builds I think- it showed where it has to be drilled and what not to do.
I couldn't find it either though

I used a Felpro and half-assed Saturn main 10mm ARPs for 460whp-480whp. It worked but...lifted sometimes. My new motor will have a Cosworth HG and proper KA24DE ARP head studs. For not much more money I think I got a much better setup. If you're not going to get the block and head machined just go ...

Replace and check EVERY hose on the back of the manifold that deals with vacuum/emissions/water. Look into a boost leak tes...

Re: doc race manifolds
I have their bottom mounted one that I've been using for some months with no problem. The welds and tubing are thick and good quality. Turbo fitment was superb as it left the turbo in almost the same spot where the stock SR manifold (converted to KA) places it, so everything bolted right up. HOWEVER...

DOC race will make whatever you want as their manifolds are made to order.
If you want a t3 flange you can have them do that if you'd like.
Otherwise it's a matter of modding a t2
