My motor knocked right around 2000rpm. Wouldn't make too much noise above that. Same that was aforementioned, sounded like it was up in the head, but was a rod knock not a valve tap. Pulled some pretty gnarly bearings out and resurfaced and polished the whole crank when I did my build.

I've got the O&J mech lifters as well as the O&J stainless valves. And a set of the pioneer stiffer outer springs and new oem inners on my built motor. I also did a 3-angle job on the valves. I can tell you that the lifters are not quiet, but I do like the way they sound. And they are a grea...

Just line up the punches in the sprokets with the colored links. And make sure you get the compression stroke on cyl. 1 not the exhaust (check the valves). Both crank and cam keys at 12 o'clock. That's all you do. http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=ka24e+timing&FORM=BIFD#focal=e388062a902157b79...

He payed around $2600 for the rotrex. It is going to turn quite a few heads. And yeah we have never heard of anyone else doing this on a ka either.

Yeah thats what it turned out to be...after three MAFs. Reset the timing and it runs great. And free of so much emissions clutter. Again, thanks guys.

It's actually my car that KA4LIFE is talking about with the lifters. We just finished building my motor and they are in there. In my opinion they are pretty loud. But they sound good if thats what you're going for. I'll try and get a vid up tomorrow if I can. It will be with a camera so I don't know...

Also sounded like it was backfiring through the intake last night as well.

Hey guys. Been stagnant for a few days. I've got the intake back together and started her back up. Didn't really do anything differently. I do have code 41 for the intake temp sensor now but that shouldn't matter. I'm going to try and retime the dizzy. I'm also going to check a local shop for a spar...

I will go ahead and take off the aac and iacv and see how it runs. Like KA4LIFE said we already swapped out the MAF with an old one we have but it didn't help, the only other thing I can do is clean them with MAF cleaner. I can try to get a hold of an extra dist somewhere if need be.

It doesn't go up and down, it is just very rough, almost like a MAF or another sensor is disconnected. Definitely noticeably rough. About the timing, the tooth for the dist is definitely on. Did it with a timing light as well. The mech timing must be right, I lined everything up and got the colored ...

Yeah I checked the order on the cap and it is correct. And it has a new cap and rotor. I disconnected each of the spark plug wires one by one and could tell when each cylinder stopped firing, so they are definitely all firing. And no I don't have a wideband yet but I am going to order one so I can s...

Replaced MAF with another one again no success. I am still getting the same code 33. The O2 sensor is new. And my fuel pressure sits at 43. I'm really at a loss here. I really don't think there are any vacuum leaks but I will have to get a hold of a pressure checker. The engine not only stumbles dur...

I replaced the O2 sensor today and to no avail. And yeah it was always plugged in, I know how easy it can be to overlook little things like that sometimes. I'm going to mess around with a voltmeter tomorrow to check some stuff. And I'll give the MAF a good cleaning. Thanks.

We just followed the diy sohc emissions removal thread and assuming that is valid I only removed what was unnecessary. I do still have all the parts however if need be. This motor is going to be run like this until next summer when boost will be added to the equation. So if there is something I need...

Built motor running issues

I need a little ka wisdom here. I just finished my motor build on my 90 hatch. It is a ka24e and was an auto before the build, now a manual. The engine is not running quite how I thought it should. Idle is rough and it does stall occasionally. It bogs whenever I give it any gas. My mod list is: aria...
