my oil pressure is hooked up the same way, and i know my reading changed noticably after i put a flow restrictor on my turbo oil line. i would say i saw a 5-10psi difference in reading. I don't know where a better place would be to put the gauge though. Use it as a reference, still better than the s...

Matt i am running a bikirom right now (yeaa!!) and am desperately looking for a standalone for a decent price. The COP and speed density sounds like exactly what i need. I am ready for an obdI s14 the day it becomes available, just tell me where to send the money!

that really depends how much you've stripped out of it, and they are not that front heavy. If you strip the interior yes it will get more front heavy. You can probably figure out your situation by going to a scale and seeing how much weight is on the front tires and how much on the rear, then taking...

no i have a BOV, a JGS one, and it is working. i had the bov line pinched once and can definately tell when the BOV is not functioning. the thrust washer sits inside the dynamic seal (on the left) so the wear would be from the dynamic seal pulling/spinning on it from how it sits in the turbo. I dont...

massive turbo thrust washer wear? [pic]

hey all, i just rebuilt my turbo this morning because it started to smoke and i noticed i had like an 1/8 inch end play. upon taking the turbo apart i saw that the thrust washer was worn down ridiculously. what could cause this much wear? As you can see the other bearings don't look nearly as bad, t...

leave it stock or go coil on plug. I think the distributor cap/rotor really don't last that long on our cars if you run high boost. Mine seem to get toasted in like 10-15k miles. i ran an msd 6a to amplify my ignition and went thru 2 distributors in 2years. it seems to kill the coil off in there.. M...

if you weld it i imagine you pay the price in tires in the long run. If you really want to drift go with a clutch diff. if you just want traction, i personally have the s15 hlsd and its been GREAT. beaten on it now for 20+k miles with 17psi and it has given me all the grip i want. hmm.. looking through the FSM at the manual transmission components it seems like a very possible event. I have to rip the whole thing apart though to inspect the shifter fork eh..

i think it's time to start looking for a spare tranny and getting this one rebuilt maybe :)

after a hard crunch from 5th to 3rd, tranny issues

Hey All, My stock 5 spd tranny has over 160k on it now, with 30k of turboed goodness. I never had any issues, but yesterday while i was driving along at 60 and tried to downshift to 3rd (and skip 4th, with a revmatch) it crunched really hard and went into gear like molasses. Scared me, but i did my ...

it probably won't help a lot.. the voltage is up only like 4%, but anything helps right? the main reason you should do this is to have boost cut in case your wastegate line comes off, or if you want a secret kill switch that disables ignition. if your plugs are ok and spark plug wire resistance is w...

if u get an s13 distributor you will need an s13 ignitor chip too... I looked into going that route, looks like a lot of work.. also, you may want to try plugs/wires also. In the end just find a used s14 distributor and swap that out. i have had to replace 2 distributors while i used the msd 6a box ...

it should slowly auto correct if it richens up when efans are turned on, if the base map isnt accurate enough. Unless your o2 feedback is turned off then you need to adjust the fuel map in those load cells.

what r u using for tuning?

Hi All, i didnt want to update sooner for lack of any useful info, but i have fixed the car. I took the wastegate off, took it apart, cleaned it (it was actually pretty clean and i'm not sure what caused the rattle in it) and put it back together and on the car. The noise is gone now. Something must...
