Re: my 96 s14 build?
I have had 2 of those turbo mani's in the past and the first one lasted a few months, second only a few weeks. They kept cracking even though I have a flex pipe on the down pipe. Went with a cast Iron manifold now.

Re: ECU tuning options KA24DET
Why not just get a "mail tune" like from RS-enthalpy?? Very cheap, realiable, and should make the HP you're looking for. I'm making close to 400hp/tq with an enthalpy tune on 17psi. I could make more power but this is plenty for me, plus I daily drive it.

I would just get it cut where it bent and get a flex pipe welded on. A muffler shop should'nt charge much to do this.

Hey man, I have a SOHC S13 as well that I'm removing the emissions equipment from. I also live in Atlanta. I've been researching this topic, and while I have all of the emissions equipment removed, I don't know how all of the lines go back together lol. If I post some pics, will you help me out? Cl...

If you are using the rings that wiseco provides then definitely use there diagram. I have wiseco's as well and have been boosting them for 2 years now.

he got mine PERFECT the first time, just call/email him. The setup you have is very common, shouldn't have any issues at all with tuning. You do have to run the MAF pre-turbo(draw-threw) AND re-circulate the BOV.

Wow, never seen that happen on flywheel bolts and we have had customers bring in all kinds of broken bolts for us to extract at the shop. The most successful(and fastest) method, for us at least, is by using left handed drill bits. http://www.harborfreight.com/13-piece-left-hand-drill-bit-set-95146....

My Daily driver: s13 SOHC...stock for now
I needed a car that is reliable, quiet, decent on gas and not slammed like my s14 ka-t, so I picked up a 1990 240sx with a blown motor(ka24e) and auto trans. Got it for $400 bucks! Great body other than a dented up front fender, no rust, and full interior! The objective with this car is to make it a...

Re: head gasket blown? KA24e T
What is your ka-t tuned with? Make sure its not just a leak. And yes it can still run with a blown HG but usually white smoke will come out the exhaust. Do a compression test, when a HG blows it will lose compression where it blew. Good luck! Let me know how it turns out.

Re: lost compression. no bad HG symtoms. Help please
Put the timing chain on yesterday and did a compression test. Perfect Numbers!! I put all back together today and it's running stronger than ever, and it's so much quieter with the Nissan tensioner compared to the cheap china junk it had. Paying $250 at Nissan for the chain is definitely worth it. I...

Re: lost compression. no bad HG symtoms. Help please
So I took off the timing cover and this is what I found(pics below). I'm going to install a new chain kit and do compression test before re-assembling. Hopefully the valves are ok, I ordered a timing chain kit from my local Nissan dealership. $260 for everything, wish I had gotten it to begin with! ...

Re: Lean Idle on JWT ecu, and normal driving.
I've been running my KA-t(daily) with those same A/F ratios for over a year now on an enthalpy tune. No problema!! I did some research and those A/F ratios are safe. Timing is a lot more important than running a little lean, and JWT is very safe with timing.

Re: lost compression. no bad HG symtoms. Help please
So I peeked in through the valve cover while someone cranked it and the cam does not turn. I can see the chain is still attached on the cam sprocket. I'm gonna be taking off the timing cover to what exactly happened. Hopefully its just a broken chain and the valves are still good.

Very cool build, just wondering what you're tuning with? I hope it's not just the SAFC. I have trouble installing the distributor/oil pump also. Such a pain! And I just can't find a descent write-up for the SOHC distributor/oil pump install.

It has a fresh bottom end rebuild, and head . Its has a $30 dollar ebay timing chain kit,I'm hoping it just jumped timing. Do you know if there is any way to check if any damage was done to the valves if that were the case?

lost compression. no bad HG symtoms. Help please
I have a 1990 240sx as my daily driver, 100% stock ka24e, I was getting the emissions test done and all of a sudden it turned off while on the rollers :icon-redface: So we pushed it off the machine and it's just sitting at the parking lot now. I went back and started doing a compression test and cyl...

so today I tried another ECU and got a new coolant temp sensor. No luck. I guess the next things to change are: distributor, MAF sensor, and IAT. What do you guys think?

What would retard timing when motor gets warm?
Basically my car runs great when I first start it up, runs strong and I can spin the tires. But as soon as it warms up it gets very sluggish/ slow. It feels like the ECU is retarding the timing pretty bad. What would cause this? It's a stock KA24e(NO turbo), everything stock. Please help me out, I'v...

Re: Car is very slow after 5 speed swap. Help please
It's a stock ka24e, no turbo. The differential is stock, clutch is new, I was thinking the s14 KA transmission could have a different gear ratio also. But then again so many people do 5 speed swaps and I've never heard of this problem.

Car is very slow after 5 speed swap. Help please
Basically I did a 5 speed swap on my 1990 240sx with the stock single cam. I used a transmission from an s14 KA and now the car feels very very slow. The motor free revs perfect but when I drive it feels sluggish. Has anyone else had this problem? Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Alex
