Re: 1995 240sx cuts out/misfires

Finally got a chance to scan codes. It had a mafs code and a knock sensor code. Would it be a safe bet to replace the mafs? Where's a good place to get a decent place to get one? I'm going to sell the car soon and want it to run good without putting a bunch of money in it.

Re: 1995 240sx cuts out/misfires

Ok I'll see what it does if I can get it to act up again. Are there any other popular things that go out that would make it act like that? Anyone have any other similar issues?

1995 240sx cuts out/misfires

I have a 1995 240sx. It has intake, exhaust, and test pipe. While driving the car it will randomly just quit and instantly start again(without me stopping and restarting the car). Its almost like the engine shuts off for 1/10th of a second and begins again. It doesn't feel like a normal single cylin...

Another overheating issue.

I recently had no issues with my car. It was automatic with an aftermarket muffler. I did a five speed swap, new exhaust, CXRacing radiator, and altima fans. I drove it for a week, followed by a trip to Nashville to watch some drifting (200 miles one way). I didn't have a single issue. The next day ...

I have the manual crossmember. I got a good deal on one I found on ebay so I bought it thinking I could find an aftermarket mount. I will take a look and see if I can rig something up. The crossmember from the dealer is supposed to come with a mount. I would have bought it if I had known it at that ...

auto -> manual trans mount question

Ok I tried to search with no luck. I have a 95 auto and I am going to swap in a 5 speed. I have everything that i need except a mount. No local part stores carry a stock mount and the dealer can get one but its $87 with an installer discount. What did everyone else do? I am thinking about getting a ...

Transmission ID

Tried searching can't find anything. I have a transmission for my car that I'm going to put in place of my autotragic. I need to know how to tell what year it is so I can get a rebuild kit for it. It has a bad bearing and needs to be rebuilt so I just want to get a kit for it. The trans was free and...

Ok. I picked up the transmission this weekend. I took it apart and there were bearing pieces laying on the bottom. All of the gears look good and the synchros apear to be good too. There is no rust on the inside. The shaft will rotate although not smoothly, obviously the bearing is gone. Where is th...

I've been thinking of doing one too. I think it would be fun. There is a lot of stuff to take into consideration though. The new arial atom has a v8 and its not quite as good as the first because of the added weight in the rear and the extra power make it to hard to drive. Good luck!

He is going to let me open it up before I buy it. He is a fellow KA guy so he was gonna save it in case he needed one. If the gears are messed up hes just gonna get rid of it. If they are ok then I'm gonna get it.

Around here the trannys are hard to find though. There are no junkyards around that have them. No parts locators from these junkyards show any either. I know that I have the ability to rebuild one. The rebuild kits aren't that expensive.

Transmission help

Looking for a transmission for a 5 speed swap. I have a local who has one for $100 but he put it in his car and it has no 1st or 2nd. It will not even try to go into the gears at all. Does this sound like something I can rebuild or should I stay away? I figured you guys would know best. Your the one...

Another 300zx diff question

Ok I have a 1990 N/A 300zx differential. My car is a 1995 240sx Non ABS. If I swap diffs, what axles do I use? Ive read every diff post on here and searched other sites but I just keep getting more confused. Some say I can swap the internals, some say to change the output flanges, and one says to us...

Is there any kind of hissing sound when you hit the brakes? Like a vacuum leak. Kinda sounds like a booster to me, but usually when they go bad your pedal will get VERY hard.

I was also thinking of getting that same thing. But the changes you make on the tune, will they be saved on the car? I know its kind of a noob question (I am a noob) but the site says it will not save. I have heard people say that it does save.

Fog Lights

I recently bought an S14. Its all basically stock. It has the factory fogs lights on it. I pulled the plug from behind it and it is plugged into a factory plug and comes from the factory harness. There is NO switch in the car for lights or anything added on. Is the factory fog light switch on the tu...
