My build is very close to yours except its a DE. Im going to get the machine work done in san diego within the next month or two... have you picked out a machine shop? Where are you in cali? You should look into megasquirt incase you havent its a lot cheaper and has a lot of future expandability, i...

I still think you should consider investing in a new BOV (hint..hint.. Tial, etc.) just to be on the safe side even though you haven't experienced any problems/leaks yet. * if his BOV went bad wouldnt he just have turbo flutter? clean looking motor. im building a same set up with the cx mani but il...

Id go with the higher cr pistons since you are going to lose about a point by putting them in an E motor so the 10.5s should put you at around 9.0 to 9.5 give or take . If you go with the 9.0s for a de motor you might end up with lower compression than you want . It totally depends on the boost lev...

Doing it right is to order oversized pistons and get the block machined out to match them. But if you scored some free parts, by all means try just throwing them in there. Yeah I know that's what I am doing I'm buying 1mm over wiseco pistons, that's the point of this thread the pistons come in 2 co...

I read that thread and it didn't help to much other than he has de pistons on his SOHC with a cr of 9.1:1, and if the satement is true switching to 10.5:1 in a SOHC it would go to 9.5:1, so I should do the 9.1:1 cr DOHC pistons cuz boosting on lower compression is better correct? I'm buying new pist...

pistons for a de in an e
i know this has been covered 1000000 times but to me this is a lil more complex, I've searched and only got stuff about SOHC pistons in a DOHC to raise compression. my plans are to go KA24E-T keep in mind i might need to bore my block to +1.0mm the only company found that sells pistons that size are...

These things are a lot funner to build without spending mega cash. Do you really have 9k to spend on the car? You sound exactly like me when I first I first started asking questions. Stay around and read a bit, lots of info that will save you time and headack. I do have the cash for it and my car l...

Granted setups are different but they all require same items i.e fuel, pistons, rods, etc. If you cannot figure it out for yourself, then you should not be in this game. If you spend 9K on an engine, you better fly to the moon. Most people only put about $1200 in a short block which can handle 500w...
