Picking up a 91 coupe got a few???

So ive been missing from the ka game for a little while, but this forum has always treated me pretty good. Ive read up pretty good on what to look for on 240s such as: Check frame rails for any major damage, check floor pans, check health of strut towers, check thoroughly for rust, and make sure the...

Rebuilding turbo Cant get exhaust side back in cartridge

So ive been rebuilding my turbo a garret t3 with t4 exhaust side and i for the life of me cant seem to get my exhaust compressor side back in the cartridge. I put a new ring, bearing, and snap ring on it. Ive probably watched half the videos on youtube trying to figure out why it wont get back in. I...

Idleing rich

So i dont have my iacv set up, and when my engine is cold it idles rich. I assumed this is normal, but is it? My truck is currently apart to replace a head gasket and rebuild the turbo. Also for the iacv does the line come from before the maf or after?

Intake manifold gaskets

Well ive had this odd as hell idle since i got back to sea level 1500 mile trip. I noticed my bov was leaking(Considerably more vacuum at sea level vs 6kft) and i noticed it helped my idle a lot. Now it was idling better but still bad. So i happened to notice i could hear something like a vacuum lea...

I've found a few that need some work. Ones a 90 hatch, needs the motor put back together and frame rust repaired. 750 for it, and I know they'll take less for it.

Well I did figure it out, the exhaust leak is pretty minor so things didnt get too out of wack. But I ended up changing the distributor and all is well. Something in that sealed unit was not good, threw it away before I took it apart.

IMO I think the idea needs a reboot, there's just so little traffic. Maybe we should go after a turbo 240sx forum that takes advantage of the knowledge of sr's, ka's, rb's, and other turbo motors. Things are too divided here. If someone is troubleshooting they are kinda stuck by motor, even though t...

Miss at idle, hesitation off a stop and can't climb over 5ps

So I was out driving one day to a job and when I started my truck back up I had a bad miss when idling, and it wouldn't climb above 1-2 pounds of boost. First thing I did when I got back home was new plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. It solved the issue of the missing at idle, but after 5 pounds it woul...

240's

I've been looking for a decent project 240 so I could get used to driving a rwd car and have something to play with. Well it seems like I can only find ones that are way over priced, or ones that seem good for the price and find they have no frame rail left. Where has everyone got their car from? I ...

I'm running an 18" summit racing glass pack. Sounds fantastic, doesn't drone at all. But I'm running a high flow cat, not sure how much of a difference that will make in overall drone. But at 21$ shipped I don't think you can go wrong.

Well I changed plugs and the missfire is gonna at idle. Running much better, number 4 looked a little rich. However if I romp on it, it will misfire/backfire then take off. I couldn't track down the misfire, but I'm thinking I'm gonna start looking for a set of single cam injectors for cheap. I wond...

I checked with brake cleaner around the intake, no leaks. Examined the intercooler piping and couplers everything looks good. Don't have the stuff to do a full on boost leak test. However im noticing no loss in boost pressure or slow spool.

Well I'm at my wits end at this point, my trucks got a misfire that I can't figure out. Basically I was out driving to a job truck was running great! You'll want to go with some 550-750 injectors, your stock ones run out of steam at like 2 psi. When he says data logging he is essentially getting you a tune to set up your ecu to run boost. I highly recommend an upgraded fuel pump(check general forum for a higher flow rate one). Once you get a tune...

I don't buy anything from advanced unless its something brand new. 4 alternators in 3 years. Had to fight them every time. They passed their test but in reality weren't working correctly. Had a local oreillys hook me up with a new alternator at no charge!! Needless to say its been worth it for them!...

Anyone know where the coil wire goes after it comes off the plug? Im 99% sure its blue, but dont want to gut my whole harness to find out. I opened the harness up just before the firewall, so if someone knows what the wire is id greatly appreciate it!
