Re: Cosworth head gasket. Better?

I have had better result with Cosworth over Cometic but I also had advanced boost timing with Cometic that lifted the head and separated fire ring. What degree are you at with 10psi? 93 or E85? 15* ish on the last load cells on the max rpm (6800 rpm) and running 19% alchohol, 65% 92 pump, 16% tolue...

nissanfanatic wrote:What are you torquing the head studs to? I never torque past factory spec on the 10mm studs.

Seems extremely odd that you blew a Cometic at 10psi...(?) I never had a problem on Cometic+ARP up to 32psi on a T04R.
Torqued headstuds to instructed 70 ft/lbs with Snap On electronic torque wrench.

Been a member for a while but working hard at work. But this is what I've been up to. Special thanks to Beercandrifter for hooking me up with this awesome fuel rail. Fits ID1000s perfect with purple adapters.

Probably rings. I shattered all the lands when I had stock internals. No damage to the rest of the engine. Even the cylinders had no scoring. Rebuild with Wisecos and Eagle H Beams. Change bearings and run the KA. Also spend the money on a Nistune ECU. Reliable IMO. A Felpro headgasket is king.

Nistune vehicle speed not reading

My car is a 95 S14 with a Nistune ECU and was a manual conversion when I bought the car. I noticed on the consult display that vehicle speed does not register. Is there a missing VSS wire to the ECU? My gague cluster works fine.

Thanks in advance,
Cory

I'm running 810s on stock rail making 425 hp. More than enough flow. Keeps them happy. According to the DW flow test, they are more like 900cc injectors. So IDK, don't over engineer if it's not needed.

If your gonna convert, just go top feed and ID1000s.

Nistune. I went down your path. I couldn't get my JWT to run right, so I ditched it an dewnt Nistune. Best move I ever made. Plus you can download one of 8bit's bin files and runs pretty safe. Then when you get time hit up a dyno. Cheaper in the long run.

Actually was easier for me to just read the manual on Nistune and play with numbers myself. Got some BIN files that 8 bit posted up. Was a good base map to get it running and ran pretty darn good for a base tune. A little rich, but driveable. Then off to the dyno.

I don't pay attention to the manual. I just use whatever settings work. I think I had a Z32MAF and 370cc injectors when I first built my engine. I ran something wierd like 6 in 2 out. Something like that, I don't remember, but it was not what the manual said.

Post up the alignment print out. Maybe caster, toe or camber to great of a difference. IDK about the pulling different ways when accelerating and decelling. Or rear end maybe, set back off?
