Re: Possible to control KA24E with CA18DET ECU?

From what I realized later, KA don't have any electronic ignition control at all... So all I need is to switch on 4 injectors at certain time. Surely KA24E has something for the ECU to know where crankshaft is? Doing this because I already have ECU and Nistune for CA18 as well as experience :) Where...

Possible to control KA24E with CA18DET ECU?

Hello guys. I'm considering putting KA24E from Nissan Terrano into my S13. Would it be possible to control it with my current CA18DET ECU? As I understand, major difference is that KA24E does not have individual coils. How does it fire the plugs, sorry for noob question? Is it just 1 signal for all ...

Hello guys! So has anyone beside 240sxtte built compound-charged KA? I want to do this on my CA18 but it doesn't really matter I guess

I have CA18 engine so I cannot use RB or Z33 flywheels unfortunately, but KA24 clutches should work :) That's why I'm asking. I don't know, twin-plate ORC started slipping in about a year (though I bought it used), at my 350whp at most... All this chattering and harshness and it held no better than ...

Tein colioves on mine. you run exact same trap speed as mine but 0.45 faster 60' and 0.7 faster 1/8 :) We have very similar setups. I'm nistuned on E85 with a T2 FP20g on a stock long block sr20. I've made over 300 passes in sr powered s13's. Most in the 11's in the 1/4 with t2 turbos. Get some 255...

Correct, but the 4 lug draglites have a dual pattern (4x4.25 and 4x4.5).
I see now, great idea!!

I know these weights from the head already :D 15x8 Welds in 5.5 BS are 14.5lbs; these 8.25 wheels are supposed to be 17lbs. Minus lug nuts weight.
Foxbody Mustangs are 4x4.25, not 4x4.5 from what I gather?

In fact, I don't see at all any 12x1.25 open end shank lug nuts of 1.3x length. :?

From what I searched, stock studs are 1.57" long, but the lug nuts that Welds require are about 2", so even if they touched the hub, they would still be almost 1/2" short.
Or am I missing something?

nismoautoxr, the lug nuts for Weld wheels already come inside the wheel, with flat washer on the outside: http://www.7ent.com/product_images/t/859/swt0039s_new_pic1__19958_zoom.jpg I just want to know in advance if I need to change the studs, because if I do, then all together Weld wheels become too...

If you read these forums, you will get mixed reviews. I would just change them out since the center of the rims are thicker and you will have adequate threads to bolt on. http://ls1tech.com/forums/drag-racing-tech/1196796-stock-studs-weld-rims.html http://www.ls1gto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2386...

Need to change studs for Weld Draglites?

Those who run Weld Draglites, do you need to swap studs too (in the rear)? Or are stock long enough?
Also which lug nuts do you recommend?

What do you think of these wheels? 8.25", nice +25 offset, and no special lug nuts (I hope)

I noticed that Weld Draglites exist in 15x9 with 5.5" BS (ET12 offset). pricey though...
I wonder if that backspacing would be fine for S13? Wouldn't they stick out too much?
Also, will Weld Draglites work with stock studs and nuts?

They're ALMOST good :) 15x9 in +15 offset still would stick out quite a bit. Although their Rotas's 15x8 are OK
