Mishimoto radiator running hotter than OEM
I recently went to the with my stock cooling setup and decided that my running temps were a bit too hot for my liking.... 100*C so i decided to buy a mishimoto rad. I installed and bled the system( with the bleeder screw and rad cap open with heater on). Usually when i drove with my stock setup i wa...

Thanks guys for the input. It seems the burning oil only happens when I idle lower than 1k. So i increased my idle and only drive my s13 when i know i wont be in stop and go traffic. I dont think this stock interal Ka is worth my time changing valve stem seals. Hence i have 2 other ka's lined up. Ka...

I rather it be my turbo so i have an excuse to go bigger, ill double check and take the mani off and see... I dont feel like pressurizing my cylinders and changing those stems. If it is my stems i am just gunna leave it alone. No harm can happen if i keep watching my oil if it is my valve stems corr...

The car seems to only burn oil at idle when warm and idling for around 1 minute. No blue smoke when cold start and decel or accel or cruising just idling. I read on nico that a tsp of brake fluid expands the seals. I was thinking of giving this a try. Oil pressure is always above 20 psi and compress...

Ka24det burning oil at idle only
There was a big car meet today so there was alot of stop and go and idling around waiting for parking spots and people to move out of the way. After the meet on the way to go eat somewhere, my car decided to burn oil at idle, I went through about 1/2 of a quart just from idling, I was also giving he...

Being 5 degrees advanced helped my car from sputtering and it was running very rich at 20 btdc, I had to gap my spark plugs under .20 in order for it to not spite. it is just how the cams were mechanically setup, which roughly makes it around 20 btdc. by retarding my timing would most likely make my...

Is there anyway to fix a maf?
I was driving and my car just decided to die. So I pulled over and check fuel, plug blah blah. Then I checked my maf, and the car idles without the maf. The i put a multimeter to it and it reads 2.7 volts with the car off, and 3.7 volts with the car idling. Soo is there anyway to fix this? I cleaned...

I have been running 24* btdc and its been running well. I haven't had time or money to hit the dyno so i am just hoping. But when i run 20 degrees it backfires alot and has no go, I am also running a highflow cat. (i will be making a test pipe soon) I am not going wot throttle lately since I just pu...

How badly did i screw up?
Ok so i recently installed my ka24det, everything was a fine and dandy. Until i went to hangout with a couple of my sr friends. They saw that i didn't have my valve cover hose hooked up to anything. So they told me and i hooked it up to my charge pipe. That night i also just put in a new clutch (whi...

I went and retarded the timing to 22btdc just to be on the safe side. I herd and have been reading that, knocking can hardly be herd and the safc is unreliable for knock monitoring. This is a drift build so reliability is key, hence the tune and concern for knock. Thanks for the input. I'll see if i...

having to add base timing to enthalpy tune
I have read the post about the 248/232 cam swap. I also have installed it in my car and ran it NA for about 1 Year now until now. I have been to many drift events with this setup and decided to move up and boost it. cam gears moved 4 teeth over The cam swap with 248/232 cams really liked 25-28 btdc ...

Safc 2 trouble.
My build 370cc T25 Bottom mount Enthalpy Safc for fine tuning. I installed up my safc accordingly to this post http://www.ka-t.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=8089. Problem When I go to tune or select the low throttle control. The highlighter just skips over the low throttle control option to the 3rd opt...

Don't know what kind of build to build (help)
I am currently in the process of determining what build to do. I am currently looking for a low boost build for my daily driver. Planning to run max 9psi, something nice to zip around in. The build I was originally going for was: stock sr setup -sr sidemount -sr elbow -bottom mount mani -t28 or t25 ...
