Re: OBD1 KA24DET TUNES HOSTED AND POSTED!
How does one load the S13 KA-T tunes into nistune? Most come up and say the tune is for an RNN14 Pulsar GTIR. I understand that the RNN14 map scaling is better, but how do you actually use them on a KA-T with Nistune?

General Questions about an Enthalpy ecu
So I currently am running Nistune. I've gotten pretty familiar with it and I like it, but I don't LOVE it by any means, and I don't live in an area with a whole lot of professional tuners. I have to travel a little more than 2 hours to get to the nearest dyno with a decent tuner. And even then, he's...

Re: Valve lash issue or normal noise?
Process wasn't too bad. Got some 45 degree angled feeler gauges. Let the car warm up so I could measure everything warm. Popped valve cover off, set engine to TDC cylinder 1. Measured first 8 clearances, rotated engine 360, measured other 8 clearances, rotated back to TDC. Removed cams, zip tied cam...

Re: Skull And Bones KA Oil Adaptor question
The center most port should be receiving filtered oil from the oil filter which gets pumped into the block to lubricate. The outer port should be sending out oil that NEEDS to be filtered by the oil filter, if that helps. Center port = clean oil INTO the engine Outer port = unfiltered oil being sent...

Re: Non Sandwich Oil Filter Relocation For KAs
Since the guy before me bumped this, and these seem to be the ONLY direct bolt onto the block adapters out there for the KA (dozens of companies make em for SR20's), and I want to give my money to someone for one of these.... bump. I want it. Take my money. TAKE IT! EDIT: Also, how well do oil temp ...

Re: Valve lash issue or normal noise?
Ah, so the buckets will be further away from the cam lobes if the valves seat a littler higher up, correct? If anything, I feel like the clearances would be too loose currently. Also, I see the tool needed to remove the shims with the cams in the engine. That little crescent wrench and "picky&q...

Valve lash issue or normal noise?
Got my upgraded KA running again and on the road. Top end is very... "clicky" now. Removed the 2 upper timing chain guides during build. The clicking sounds like it's coming from DIRECTLY below the valve cover along the length of the motor (not just isolated to one spot), like its valves c...

Freshly built engine / Oil Temps / Oil Cooler Questions
So I got my KA back in the car. Freshly rebuilt. 0.020 over bore, forged rods, forged pistons, clevite bearings all around, +1mm oversized ferrea valvetrain, GT3076R turbo, ceramic coated header. Threw some Amsoil break in oil in, got the car running the other day. Got a pretty decent tune on it, le...

http://www.maverick-motorsports.com/products/nissan-s13-s14-axle-adapters Are these the adapters you speak of? I saw those a while back and noticed the "need to know" stuff: Need to know: The adapters combined with 350z axles will add about 1/2" length to the overall axle length over...

Re: Driveshaft shop axles. I have questions.
Ok. I think that answers my question. So the 96-97 J30 axles will bolt right on to my S15 hlsd. When you say they are the same, do you mean they will bolt right on and are the same strength as the stock ones I have now? Or do you mean they will bolt right on AND they are stronger? As for the tranny....

Driveshaft shop axles. I have questions.
So, I'm not sure whether or not I should be concerned about my stock axles. At 400hp, i'm concerned I might snap one, but many people seem to think that as long as you're not running big, wide, sticky slicks and doing 6k rpm launches, you should be fine. I don't plan on running racing slicks or doin...

Re: Engine Break in. Can someone clarify?
That's actually what I'm going by. He says to change the oil after the first 20 mile run, but I can't find whether he says to put break in oil back in, or go to non synthetic regular motor oil.

Engine Break in. Can someone clarify?
I plan on doing a hard break in of my rebuilt (forged rods, pistons, full Ferrea valve train, clevite bearings all around) KA. Probably an easy question to answer. Just want some clarification. So, it's: 1. Put engine in car. 2. Add break in oil. 3. Start car, let it warm up. (no crazy revving it up...

SCE Copper head gaskets... Only come in 88.9mm bore?
So whats the story with that? I'm not necessarily going to run one as my next HG, but i've noticed that ALL their HG's in all the different thicknesses are only 88.9mm bore. That's smaller than stock bore, let alone ones that are .020 and .040 over. Isn't HG overhang a big issue, or am I misundersta...

Yeah, it stinks. I got a 1.5mm from Enjuku, did an exchange for the 1.1 and they informed me once they received my 1.5mm that they were out of the 1.1's and they were discontinued. No ebay stores even had them. A couple reps from the like... 10+ sites I emailed said Cosworth is "restructuring&q...

Re: Cosworth 1.1mm headgaskets have been discontinued.
So far no dice on the 1.1mm's. I've emailed a bunch of places and no-one has em. Having Enjuku ship me a 1.5mm as an option. So, can someone educate me on going with a thicker HG (1.5mm), or point me in the direction of good info on the topic? I know my compression ratio will lower, but i'm wonderin...

Cosworth 1.1mm headgaskets have been discontinued.
...Aaaand I'm guessing the 1.5 and 1.8's have probably also been discontinued as well, and anywhere that has them is going to run out. So a couple of questions. I'm getting to the point in my build where I need a head gasket. I -CAN- still get a 1.5mm cosworth, but no 1.1's. My block and head have b...

Thanks for the feedback fellas.
Seems like it's just like driving *any* car long distances. Don't drive like a bat out of hell the whole time, have a spare and tools, etc.
Common sense stuff I guess.
Cheers!

Re: Head gasket selection question.
Ahhh I see. I wasn't aware it was done for smoothness. As for the copper spray, is that just sprayed on the top and bottom layers of the gasket, or do you need to spray it between the layers as well? Regarding the cosworth gasket, it's actually the one I want to go with, but the ONLY KA cosworth gas...

Head gasket selection question.
So, i'm in the process of boring my block out to .020 over and putting in forged internals. I see people saying for any MLS gasket (cometic or cosworth) you need to plane your block, head AND timing cover. Is it really necessary to plane the block though? I can see the head and timing cover needing ...

So, I was going over my car a week before my dyno date with my mechanic buddy and it turned out my head gasket is done for.
