Re: AMMFAB picture thread

I do not recall if the e-head was flow benched before hand. I'm pretty sure it was after, I remember hearing a lot higher numbers. If you want to get in contact with mike... The best way is instagram #ammfab I'm sure he hasn't been back here in a long time. He said he's got too many fab threads to k...

Re: KA24DE Bottom End Modifications

The $2000 quote was for cnc billet aluminum rods. Figured that if I was going for high revs, might as well have less rotating mass for increased response on the "smaller" engine.

Re: KA24DE Bottom End Modifications

I was SERIOUSLY considering a "destroked" motor, however the complications and ultimate cost led me in the direction of the L/Z20/KA hybrid. The reason... Destroying the ka is also going to decrease the displacement. In my eyes the ONLY benefit of using the ka block is that you can use sup...

Re: KA24DE Bottom End Modifications

I linked a bunch of info about these modifications in the last few pages of my build thread. Check it out, it may be helpful. I'd like to see someone stateside do this. I was going to do it but like other people have said, the cost to benefit ration is very high and not on the good end.

...And of all things a ball hone!? Jesus, reminds me of a thread I saw a long time ago where a guy suggested to his friend that he port and polish his turbo Audi head by dumping sand into his intake. The sad part is that unlike you he didn't consult anyone and dumped sand in with his friend by his s...

Re: CA18ET exhaust manifold on KA24E...

This project has been mothballed. I'm getting my head soon and want something matched to the caliber of the cylinder head. It is possible to do but nothing lines up to the point of having to drill 1-1/2" holes at an angle, two separate angles per pair. To those that attempt this before I actual...

Re: Welded my diff today!

Thanks! Mondays are my vacation from the house projects, chores, and normal bs. Myself and a few friends generally have Mondays off. A good friend Joe Champagne ( https://m.facebook.com/?_rdr#!/Champagnemotorsportsresearch ) runs a fab shop(CMR) in a rented garage with a 70' driveway. On Mondays its...

I got to set some house projects aside today and partook in "Garage Monday" at my friends shop, Champagne Motorsports Research. I welded my differential. What do you guys think? http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o66/parkers13silvia/temporary-8.jpg I've gotta look into the fsm about how to...

Re: CA18ET exhaust manifold on KA24E...

Okay, after a bunch of measurements... I've come to the conclusion that it is definitely possible and worth the work in my eyes. I have to get some 1/2" mild steel plate and make the flanges. I'll try to take some pics as I go, so expect some updates soon. It's ridiculous how long an engine bui...

Re: Intake manifold project

To press, Harbor Freight 20ton. To mill... Believe it or not, that flange was made on a router table. I made a template to the shape that I wanted, fastened to the aluminum stock and used a high quality 3/8" bearinged straight wood bit for shaping after cutting rough shape on bandsaw. Radiused ...

Re: What would YOU like to see manufactured??

Another part i think we'd all enjoy the benefits of would be a individual throttle body plate that would sandwich between the head and intake manifold. Similar to the gti-r's. I'd skip the single cam in favor of increased popularity and demand for dohc.... Even though I'd love one! I imagine a desig...

Re: CA18ET exhaust manifold on KA24E...

Well folks... I got two of them for a reasonable cost. The down side is that I didn't think to bring my crap cx-racing mani for comparison on port spacing. After comparing them, I don't know how feasible this is going to be. Its definitely going to be more work than I expected, if it even works. I w...

CA18ET exhaust manifold on KA24E...

Okay guys, after exhaustive searching through google and many forums, I have come up with not a whole lot. What I'd like to know is if anyone has ACTUALLY succeeded in modifying a ca18et turbo mani to work on a ka24e. I have found a lot of people talking about it being possible. Some people saying t...

I think that if your car is slammed it would look great. I like the removal of the upper corner... Its always irritated me that kit companies make bumpers with body lines that don't match the car.

That's nuts! ...i had never heard that engine code before. Strange that they spaced the exhaust like that on a dual cam. Anyway the tuners look awfully close to fit a ka but I could be wrong. The bolt pattern does apear to be the same though. Good find, thanks! found this while quickly searching the...

Biggest one I've seen interest in lately is a ka24 oil pan at a 240 owners price(reasonable).
