yes I used the bleeder on the intake. Radiator breather tank? you mean an overflow? I have one.

I used an airlift to fill the system. Have run on the dyno and driven now for a few hundred miles. Crack the bleeder and coolant is all thats coming out. I will try it again tho

I have had an issue with my KA T getting hot at idle. Pick up the rpms or stomp it to the floor and it cools right back down. This issue seems like the water pump is not turning fast enough. Overheating at idle and low RPM
Freshly rebuilt and heater core deleted. If I allow engine to sit and idle it will over heat. Pick up the throttle to around 3500-4000 rpm and the temp drops like a rock. Cooling system is all new. Ok so changing the oil weight will explain why it is always the number3 rod??

Yes engine was tuned each time. No gas in the oil.

I believe I found the issue with the last motor but just seems weird that it is always number 3 rod.
Mobil one oil and filter. Drifting when each one has gone.
I had stock oil pan and with the side loading on this last engine it was uncovering the oil pickup

Spinning number three bearing. 2 engines were stock the third was built. clearances were right on spec. New oil pump, etc.
All three spun number three rod bearing. No part or system has been the same on all three. The built motor was running a oil cooler and still always seems to be number 3

Oiling issue?
I seem to keep having an issue with number three rod. Three different engines and all three have had issues with number 3 rod bearing. Anyone else have this issue. Or an answer to this issue?

Ok I understand about the head and upper timing cover being the same. I am wondering about the front cover and oil pump. I cannot afford any surprised down the road is all.
So if I use the 13 bottom end I can use the 14 head, 14 upper and lower timing covers,14 oil pump without issue?
