timing at 30 degrees past, pulled VC, now no whoosh of air

so I rebuilt my KA, havent posted here in a while but I need some tech help, so I rebuilt it, fired it up, set the timing to 20 originally or so I thought I set it to 20, once I get the timing light on the crank it was reading at 30 and my idle was high(like 1500rpm), so then I pulled the dizzy to m...

Re: Rebuild my KA with stock internals or wait and build it?

What turbo are you going to run and how much power do you want to make out of it? If it's nothing too crazy, a stock rebuild will suffice. Im running a t28 with the goals around 300hp. also my cylinder walls have some rust marks in them. http://imgur.com/tJ23FON,CxXqw0Z do I need a bore, or can I g...

Re: Rebuild my KA with stock internals or wait and build it?

if your in a rush look for a good used running motor run that while you build a forged motor on the side good luck. Oh believe me I know, im about to just rebuild it with the same internals, cross fingers and hope everything goes right, there is a drift event this weekend I really want to make it t...

Re: Rebuild my KA with stock internals or wait and build it?

I think what I might be able to do is rebuild it using the same cast pistons and run it until it blows again? but would I have to hone the cylinders to rebuild it ?

Rebuild my KA with stock internals or wait and build it?

So I have a ka which I bought with a trubo kit on, about a week after the car blew a timing chain guide and I disassembled the motor because I saw the car was over boosting (about 13-14 psi on stock pistons) and I thought it was rod knock, then when I get into the engine there isnt anything off, pis...

Rebuilding for turbo

so I had some rod knock/ blown timing on my ka24de, it blew because it was turbo'ed and was boost creeping to like 14psi on stock pistons. after I blew the engine I realized the oil plug had came out (I am not sure if this is the real reason it blew). But now the engine is in pieces, the bearings lo...
