Re: rich idle, lean throttle?

Its going lean in throttle, if it was a boost leak it would go rich.

Re: rich idle, lean throttle?

Tried another maf, no change. Picking up a stock ecu today to see if i can get it to throw the same code and i'll be able to read it then.

rich idle, lean throttle?

s13, dual cam, t25, 370 injectors, stock maf, nismotronic ecu base tune. Getting on the highway today, running perfect, getting into it a little. All of a sudden she starts stumbling, check engine light comes on. Now at idle the wideband reads full rich, getting into the throttle it leans out with m...

Ka-t runs terrible, almost undrivable

Finished my setup last weekend and for this whole week i've been messing with it and i still can't get it to run right. My setup is an s13 stock ka24de with a gt2871r, 660s, and n62, enthalpy tuned ecu. The problems i'm having are that its deadly lean at idle, maxing out my wideband gauge. It also h...

Re: Having second thoughts on turbo choice

Yep. It seems like the t3/t4 will be maxed out around 350whp, and even though im only lookimg for around 320 it's still really pushing it. But on the holset i can run around 10psi and make the same power and i'd think it would have better street manners since i'd never really get into boost under n...

I gonna stay with the hx35. Go big or go home lol. I don't want to get a little bi*ch turbo and regret it later

Re: Having second thoughts on turbo choice

my hx35 hit 18psi aat 3800rpm, thats still close to half way in the stock rpm band. have yet to see someone drifting under 3k rpm on a motor The track i go to is really low so i end up around 3k a lot, which is what makes me second guess the holset. I mean i guess with more power i could keep the r...

Having second thoughts on turbo choice

So i've been set on building my ka with an hx35 for a while now. But as i'm collecting parts i keep having this feeling like i should use a smaller turbo. I drift the car and i worry about the lag a big turbo like the hx35 will have. I want to put down around 300-320whp for the time being. What i li...

Re: Compression ratio

you can do a bit more than 300hp on 9:1 ratio with 93 pump gas =) its all in the tune on the 8.8:1 pistons i ran i hit a wall around 25psi on that same turbo. had no issues dailying 17psi. you should be golden around 10-12psi Awesome thanks! I'm going with enthalp for the tune too so i have no worr...

I only know of one place with e85. Even then i drive the car a lot, there's not a doubt in my mind i'd need fuel somewhere and not be able to find e85.
Like i said i really don't mind meth/water injection.
I mean, $200 for a full set of cp's. Thats a bangin deal

Compression ratio

I'm putting together my ka and i'm stuck on the compression ratio. I wanted somewhere around 8.5 but i got offered a sweet deal on some cp 9.0:1 pistons. I'm getting forged eagle rods too, hx35 turbo , 1000cc injectors. I want to push 300whp. The highest octane i have around here is 91 and 93 at som...

Re: Injector size

From what i've read the ka trans is safe up to 400 crank hp. The ppg straight cut gears handle 600hp and thats what the z32 handles too. Not sure on the price of the gears though. If it's around the same as the z32 swap i'd probably prefer the keep the ka trans since it's direct bolt in. But thats a...

Re: Injector size

I'm a little late to the party, but please buy at least 1000cc worth of injector. I had 880s on my HX35 setup. At 350/400HP I was running a duty cycle of maybe 90% to get ~11.4:1. It would run out of fuel in the cold weather. The HX35 flows a lot of air, so don't hold yourself back by not getting e...

Another question. I plan on getting the ecu tuned by enthalpy. Using a maf setup. Now when i get it tuned do i have to stay at the boost pressure its tuned for? Or is it tuned for my engine setup and will just compensate for whatever boost i decide to run?

Would the 1000cc be overkill for 350whp? This is my daily, so i'm also wanting to get as good mpg as i can get.
