Re: white smoke & no boost = ?

yes, the white smoke is coming out of the exhaust at stops. only when i hit full boost and boost hard on the freeway. if i drive the car normally and spool the turbo, there is no white smoke at all. i took the car to a shop that specializes in 240s. They pressurized my radiator and located the sourc...

Re: white smoke & no boost = ?

Do a compression test and you will have your answer did a compression test and got 160 across the board. drove the car, pulled great, i was seeing full boost. got back home after a 15 minute drive and now a TON of white thick sweet smoke was coming out of my exhaust. checked the engine and i saw br...

Re: white smoke & no boost = ?

I don't think they're my bolts. I checked those and they're still tight. I actually drove home, still no boost, no bov, barely hear the turbo but no smoke at all. Before exiting the freeway I decided to do a 4th hear pull and I did hit full boost but it took about a Second to half a second to reach ...

white smoke & no boost = ?

so its been about 150 miles since i turbo'd my KA. Pulls and drives fine. AFRs are perfect and no vacuum or boost leaks. Drove today in about 80+ degree weather for 25 miles. boosting here and there on the freeway. Drove back 25 miles, boosting here and there again on the freeway. Once i exit, i not...

Re: exhaust help

Do you have these boots installed (and un-ripped) around the shifter? I tried to go without these and suffered similar gas fume issues. http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj200/kfrede9/Untitled_zps8c5fdbb4.png I actually don't have the boot that goes around the shifter itself. Just the boot from th...

Re: exhaust help

exhaust help

I just went KA-T. Car runs great. I have straight piping from the downpipe to the exhaust tip. The exhaust gasses are killing me. Not only do I smell like crap every time I drive the car, I also feel like I need a gas mask to breathe. Its becoming just a bit unbearable. I have all my emissions stuff...

Re: My 1st KA-T build

came home to a bunch of packages. Got my SS clutch line, 3" exhaust gasket, silicon radiator hoses, radiator grommets, check valve, 45 degree oil return fitting, and a 3" to 2.5" coupler. I also got a box of 10W30, water wetter, MT90 and ATF from redline oil. and i also bought everyth...

Re: My 1st KA-T build

i second that, but if you insist on your current setup, which i would understand considering work already invested, 2 45*s would do it. 1 45* silicone coupler and 1 45* short piece of pipe. Everything looks amazing. Great job, I love it. As for connecting Maf to intake of turbo, don't do it. Just p...

Re: My 1st KA-T build

Worked on the car some more on Sunday. I got the oil pan back in and the return line hooked up. The bung was welded at a slight downward angle, it concerned me a bit. After I installed it and saw how the line looked it got me a little worried that oil might collect instead of drain back to the oil p...

Going to keep my AC cause its hot as balls in California. https://farm3.staticflickr.com/2910/14207150634_04fdce48a4_z.jpg Got the overflow tank in and fitted some of the piping. https://farm3.staticflickr.co...

Re: My 1st KA-T build

DAY 9: More parts came in today. Coolant overflow tank, EGR block plate, and Sway Bar end links. Bought CS cause they're inexpensive and I feel these parts don't see any movement. Besides the end links, which are obviously better than the worn and loose OEM end links I already had. https://farm3.st...

Re: carbon canister delete (and whatever else i can delete)

You could cap them, but eventually the caps will fail and you will be trying to figure out why your car isn't running correctly. That's exactly what happened to me. I eventually pulled the intake manifold and removed the lines at the source. Its a pain, but makes everything so much smoother and has...

Re: carbon canister delete (and whatever else i can delete)

I guess I could just cap them then. I did search. I read mostly stuff about the gas tank hard line. I'll search again

carbon canister delete (and whatever else i can delete)

going KA-T, dual cam. i just removed my stock manifold, exhaust, intake, and the PAIRC assembly. I then started pulling lines off the carbon canister. ive read that i can just vent the hard line that comes from the gas tank. What do i do with the 4 other lines shown here ? Can i pull them all and ju...

Re: rs-enthalpy tune

awesome. thanks man.

is the only way to get a more accurate tune is to actually show up, with a wideband and get it dyno tuned ? is it possible to get the initial tune, check a/f ratios, then send it back with those results for a more finer tune?
