Re: seth's zenki build
Little update: The car starts perfectly now, i rotated the distributor all the way counter-clockwise, and adjusted the trigger offset accordingly. I'm not sure what the root of the problem is, but its fixed for now and I'm thankful for that. Here is a video of the car after messing with launch contr...

Re: seth's zenki build
Well 1 problem solved. When i put the injector connectors together, i did a pretty bad job and one of them was shorting/open circuit whatever. Well i replaced all the connectors with prebuilt connectors with pigtails and the random intermittent miss is gone. But im having problems starting now, im n...

Re: seth's zenki build
Thanks guys. I'll post update with some current pics and info soon. But for now I have a problem. I've been chasing down an intermittent misfire at idle ever since I got the car running with the MSPNP2. I replaced the distributor, no change. I replaced the two electrical connectors on distributor, s...

I've decided to fix the car and I'm just about ready for the state inspection. Here's a quick video of how my eBay exhaust sounds.

Re: seth's zenki build
I'm all squared away with insurance, and I'm keeping the car as a salvage. I haven't decided what to do. I could repair the car myself and get a rebuilt title, or find another shell to swap into and scrap the body. It looks like they are both in the same ballpark as far as money goes. If I repair th...

Re: seth's zenki build
Bye-bye 240. It's totaled. Luckily my power/drivetrain survived, so it looks like I'm gonna get a new shell and swap my motor and tranny in. Too bad I just installed my new radio and speakers, cut out and replaced with new metal all the rust in the floorboards, and laid dynamat. Lol, **** happens, m...

Re: Supakat's Thread
As soon as I raised the max kPA for EGO control, my AFR's in boost got even better, so thanks for that. It's so much fun learning MS. And good stuff with the Challenger. Was it an SRT8?

Re: Supakat's Thread
What will it take to swap that g35 tranny in with your current setup?
And when you say you "enabled it" what exactly do you mean and how do you get to that option?

Does this sound like detonation to you? I'm not registering any knock in tunerstudio, although I just ordered a new knock sensor just in case.

Re: seth's zenki build
The camera on my phone isn't working so I haven't been able to get any pics of the intercooler piping route. I had to pull the front cover off to get to a loose lower timing chain guard so once I get it all back together I'll take my digital camera out and snap some pictures. But basically it's setu...

Re: Supakat's Thread
I've been wondering about this myself. I don't have my personal computer in front of me but if the AFR1 table does indeed control AFRs when in VE3 table, than wouldn't a log show GEGO change while in VE3 table?

Re: seth's zenki build
Thanks. And I'm running the cxracing s13 sr20 kit. The cold pipe lines up perfect, but I had to cut the hot pipe short and add a 90* silicone elbow from the turbo. I'll post up some pics of how I routed the hot pipe when I get a chance to.

Re: seth's zenki build
I'm not sure what's up with the throttle position issue, I've calibrated it a couple times. It'll stay accurate for a while then start to drift. My battery is pretty old, I wonder if it could be from inconsistent voltage. But anyway the car feels pretty good. It's smooth until I get to the overly ri...

Re: seth's zenki build
Great advice on the spark plug gap, it made a world of difference. I checked them and they were at almost .032" so I gapped them down to .025" and now it'll hold at 16 PSI without the crazy amount of blow out I was experiencing before. I'm still too rich but I'll keep working on that. For ...

Re: seth's zenki build
I'm running bkr7e's, but I put them in so long ago that I don't remember specifically what I gapped them to. I think I went with as big of a gap as I thought I could run at the time. I'll gap them down tonight and see where I'm at. I did a bunch of highway driving with autotune on last night and I w...

Re: seth's zenki build
Thanks a lot. I'm not sure if I lowered the boost cut from what your tune is set to or not, I'll definitely look at that. Right now I'm just running a 15 lb wastegate spring, no boost controller. I've got the injector size setting at 800 cc/min, and I'm doing some research to figure out if it would ...

Re: seth's zenki build
So I got the car up and running, it starts, idles, drives around fine, and below 10 psi it runs great. Right around 10 psi it starts to break up real bad. Could this be spark blow out? Attached are some megasquirt datalogs. How does this look?

Re: seth's zenki build
Downpipe and v-band adapter are complete. I put a new copper gasket between the turbo and the v-band adapter so hopefully I never have to mess with those bolts again. Worst case scenario I can now just pop the downpipe off the turbo and unbolt the turbo from the manifold to get to all those bolts. h...

Re: seth's zenki build
i think you are jumping to conclusion on timing. the cam gears are suppose to have 6 solid links between the center links of each the cam gears. that picture looks correct currently. dont worry about actual location just work about link count on chain motors. location is more of a belt issue. Think...

Help! What is this sound?
It sounds like rod knock or something, but the bearings are all new, I really don't think that's what it is. I'm thinking it's the timing chain or the cam timing is off and the valves are hitting the pistons.

Quick update: Got the car running again, and with the help of SupaKat's megasquirt thread (and his supakat.msq file) I was able to get it running pretty well. Also got my ricer exhaust installed, cleaned up the engine bay a little bit, relocated the battery to the trunk, and installed a vacuum block...

I'm diggin the digital boost gauge. And is that an ATI gauge pod? My autometer gauges didnt fit into the ATI pod at all, I had to basically cut the back out to get them to fit.
