Re: Tyrell240 89 coupe build
Yeah man it's a bummer. I was going through all my receipts last night and adding everything up and knowing that I'm going to lose a lot of money stings a little bit but all the bloody knuckles and sweat poured into this thing are priceless to me. The thought of having to barter with some punk a$$ t...

Re: Tyrell240 89 coupe build
Been a long time since I checked in! Thanks for all the compliments! Now onto the bad news.... really really bummed because I'm just not into the car anymore. The last 3+ years building have been fun and I learned a ton but at this point the car sits and I barely ever drive it. My commute to work is...

Re: Tyrell240 89 coupe build
Well it's been a bit since my last post so here's a little update on the car. Finally bit the bullet and trailered the car down to a very reputable shop 4 hours away and just picked it up yesterday. I had them install boost solenoid and dyno tune the car and I am absolutely blown away and very very ...

Re: WA state dyno tuning?
I would avoid zsport. They had my car for months and overcharged the crap out of me and didn't do what they were supposed to. English racing is the place to go.

Re: 2ND KA-T Build, No boost
What bov are you running? Some of them have different spring options based on your build and it sounds like yours isn't working properly. Boost leak check would be your best starting point.

WA state dyno tuning?
Looking for recommendations in the Northwest for dyno tuning. Not going for max hp right now I just want to get my aem v2 dialed in so I can enjoy the car fir the rest of the summer at 10 psi. I have been talking to English Racing who seems to know there stuff but they are 4.5 hours from me. Figured...

Re: Tyrell240 89 coupe build
Update! Threw away that innovative wideband and swapped in the aem eugo and it works awesome. Calibrated to the ecu right away. I've driven the car twice now doing some street tuning on the fuel map and I have it dialed in pretty good. Raju nice afrs on the vacuum side of the map. Haven't really got...

HELP guys!!! Just got my car running on aem v2. Last night I was trying to finish up some stuff so I can actually start street tuning and getting this thing dialed in and my wideband has me ripping my hair out. It's a innovative lc2 and I got the aem tuner matched up with it at idle and is reading 1...

AEM v2 wiring?
My car is at the local tuner trying to get this thing going. I went from enthalpy to aem so I got rid of the maf and added map and iat and left the wires hanging from those two for the shop to rewire and pin. After they got those wired and figured out the car they called me to tell me the brand new ...

Re: Tyrell240 89 coupe build
Brand new AEM is dead. I guess this has been happening lately with the series 2. Sent it in and they said 7-10 business days to repair/replace it which I feel is total crap. For that kind of money on a EMS they should be a little quicker at getting me on the road but whatever at least it's warantee'd

Re: Tyrell240 89 coupe build
Update. Car has been at the shop getting the aem all setup and running good. Should be able to pick it up this week! No dyno time at this point. They want me to put at least 1k on the drive train before we strap it down and start making power just to make sure all the kinks are worked out. I can't w...

Re: CX Racing Manifold Failure
Hoping my cx will hold up for a while. Really the only spot I cheaped out on my build. Figured I could by 4 of them for the price of 1 full race or other nice equal length mani and I'm only putting 3000 miles on my car per year so we'll see

I have the newer style that's thicker and has braces on it so we'll see how long it holds up. My car should be ready to drive hard in the next few weeks.

Re: Cheap Turbo manifold options
I'm running the newer cxracing manifold and downpipe with a journal bearing 50 trim. Manifold seems very well built for the price and the downpipe cleared power steering perfect without any modification. Also shooting for the 350 - 400whp range and the 50 trim .63ar with stage 3 wheel seemed like th...

Re: where do you shop for parts?
I have heard somebody that had an issue with pistons or something from frsport.com and they wouldn't accept his return. I don't remember exactly what the story was but I believe he opened parts and tried installing and then realized he ordered the wrong set. They don't accept returns on some engine ...

I have used realstreetperformance.com
And frsport.com. frsport has a lot of good stuff for the ka24de and with standard shipping I usually had stuff in 2-3 days.

Re: grinding/rattling on deceleration at 2500 to 2200 rpm
I searched and searched and couldn't find the article again but it was a legit article from nissan. Pretty much said installing aftermarket clutch\flywheel throws off the harmonic balance of the gears in the tranny and that's the rattle you hear. I think different set ups will yield different result...
