Re: Request for timing table
@NukeKS14 any chance of the upload? Anyone else as well feel free to get involved. The reason for the ask is that as you can see from above it looks like retarded on boost I think and also possibly under 0psi. My engine CR is low in the low 7's. I recently sorted the valve timing out (running BC cam...

Re: KA-T 2.4 need to re-torque head
I like to keep things updated. The gasket/head was no good in the end. Had to do the right thing and get it skimmed and I put a felpro on and so far so good.

Re: Request for timing table
Hi Ka24de. Previous owner had fun and games with it. Sold it to me with a HG issue that he tried to fix with mechanic in a bottle! That is all now resolved and all the other issues like BC cams not set properly was running JWT sprockets but on default position. Turbo gt30-76r so only a t3. If you se...

Re: Head gasket issue?
So felpro installed and no issues :-) Whilst in there checked valve lash and it was all over the place and didnt match the clearances given on the cam card so was badly shimmed at stock values. Once reshimmed then moved onto the timing and the inlet cam is 9.5 degrees out should be 12 ATDC and got 2...

valve shims with or without oil hole
Hi, all y valve shims have oil holes in them what is "standard" for our heads? The head on my car is the same as an Altima I believe.
Re: Thoughts
Cannot find the cosworth gasket. Gone for felpro, only running 22psi hopefully the ARP studs with this gasket will suffice. If I read correctly others have used timecerts and machined the arp nuts to fit the limted space in the head? TBH others have standard bottom end and got away with around what ...
Re: Thoughts
Yes, finally got some time to at least get it to some sort of reliable motor. I have found previous threads all over the place on here before I owned it. He had been tinkering with the TPS as well so it was not hitting the idle routine. Considering that HG was not in good shape can take a picture of...
Re: Thoughts
Oh dear I am now the not so proud owner of this POS. Had nothing but trouble was sold to me as perfect but lasted the journey back home and then got loss of coolant alarms. There was no external leak so we all can guess where the water was going! Anyway due to things that went on in my personal life...

Re: Felpro HG 26171PT how thick when compressed?
Worked out the CR and it is 7.13 if I use the shim that I purchased to bring everything back to where it was prior to the skim. Previous owner put 7.5:1 JE pistons in it as suffered from DET (dont ask). Seems very low but car makes good power low down maybe a bit laggy. only running 1.5bar on the be...

Felpro HG 26171PT how thick when compressed?
Guys I am in the UK and parts hard to get. My cylinder number is passing combustion gasses to the coolant. Have took head off and it needs a light skin and would say chuck the cometic in the bin. Cometic measure 1.3mm. At this moment not sure on how much of a skim is required but have concerns about...

Re: Head gasket issue?
Head is off. nothing too obvious on the gasket or valves. TBH witness marks around the cylinder were not even do cometic have sealing rings as not evidence. I did try and re torque head but still leakage under leak down test. All bolts torque to 74 foot lbs. Going to post another thread about the FE...

Head gasket issue?
Seems like I have a HG issue. Water was being pushed into the expansion tanks (non pressurised catch can). Car is on a cometic MLS GH, and ARP studs. Just done a leaddown test and on cylinder 3 it is pushing into the water (radiator level rises slowly). Car has never been right since purchasing it b...

JWT adjustable sprockets and BC version 2 cams
Hi, recently had to take the cams out for headgasket tighten. Anyway during this I noticed the van has JWT adjustable sprockets and BC version 2 cams but was set up on the default slots that appear to have a lot of lash which I would imagine is not ideal. The slots are not worn. No such backlash is ...

Re: KA-T 2.4 need to re-torque head
Well cams out and the nuts were less than 55lbs with the most "loose" being the ones next to the cylinder that shows slight coolant leak. Have re-torqued to 86lbs and system under test at 1.2 bar and so far no pressure loss in 20hrs. It is on ARP's and cometic HG. Would you guys loosen say...

KA-T 2.4 need to re-torque head
Loose water every 300 miles or so. On investigation no external leaks found. Pressurerised the coolant system to 1.4 bar via expansion outlet and left for 1 week with no drop of pressure or external water leak. on Starting the van, some white smoke present :-( So put the pressure back into the syste...
