Re: Ka24de rebuild

honestly - go with .020" bore so you know you have fresh round cylinders. Any forged piston manufactured by a name brand will work - i've had good luck with Wiseco for the price. 9.1:1 Compression is good for pump gas, and drivability. Stock cylinder heads will be fine at 300hp. ARP head studs,...

That seems like a fairly stout set up, I wish E85 was more readily available in my area.
Tough to find a good deal on a set of new ID injectors, as they're a map restricted brand.

a 3071 should do it as well on pump.

While this does seem low, the number is really only for reference only. The graph is the important part.
If the car runs well, and the engine is healthy, it is what it is. What did your tuner say?

Pictures don't work, but i'm excited to see. Also, I'm a current AEM V2 owner, and if my AEM died today, I'd probably go with a LINK instead of replacing it with another V2

Re: Coil On Plug Conversion for Stock ECU

I have the Precision Speed billet distributor cover on my KA and couldn't be happier. Its nice that its a billet machined piece as opposed to what looks to be intercooler piping with some welds. The Precision Speed K-series coilpack adapter doesn't have the loose spacers either. These details (in my...

All that work for side mount seats, which is easy to get low in. I applaud your honesty in saying its a waste of time though.

I have -6AN line on my KA. One coming from the line tee'd the block to the heater core, and one going back into the block from the plug under cylinder #3 exhaust port.

Re: Ka24de alternator charge light help

I've never really understood this. I havent had a stock cluster / resistor in 5 years, and no issue. I'm unsure if its cause I have a quest alternator, or a standalone, or an aftermarket cluster. But my car is 14.2-14.4 always, and drops accordingly when the fans come on, or the blower motor. Same t...

My car was on a dyno recently, and I did the following.

-New plugs, gapped to .028"
-Oil Change
-New wideband 02 sensor
-Boost leak test to 30PSI

Also, im no tuner but I hope you're on E85 for 15 degrees of timing at 18PSI. That seems REAL aggressive.

The rods aren't the weak link until youre 400+. Pistons are a definite. I would do a .020" overbore with wiseco pistons, ARP headstuds, Felpro head gasket and king bearings. That would be a plenty robust KA for your power goals.

Unfortunately too many variables. Did you change your oil before first start after it sat for years? Do you monitor oil pressure at all?

Second Dead Oil Pump?!?

-In March of 2017 I had an issue with low oil pressure. OEM S13 front covers had already been discontinued, so I ordered a rockauto unit complete with oil pump. -In May of 2018 I did an oil change, and on start up the car had 0 oil pressure. Confirmed with checking my turbo feed line. Ordered a new ...

I wouldn't ditch the KA for an RB personally. Too many expensive oiling issues. I get the LS thing, but its such a cop out. I was going to do CTS-V brakes up front, but after talking to someone in the industry they recommended against that and buying a kit that was designed with correct piston bore ...
