Injectors Not Spraying, No Start
Hi all, just looking for potential of what to check next. Have a ka-t with about 6k on it. Just last week I washed it and pulled it back in the garage. The next morning tried to start and just cranked. Upon investigation i have spark, fuel pressure at regulator, 12v at injectors, code 55 all good on...

Re: Chassing lean/misfire the last 6 Months. Built Longblock
Hi there
You have the five0 550cc side feed injectors? I am running them and I'm getting 16.5 or so at idle plus my oil smells like gas. I pulled the rail and primed the system but no leaks (o rings are good). How did you test running the injectors for proper operation?

Re: Adam's formerly supercharged... now soon-to-be-turbo'd,
Ok, my friend has a torque wrench that goes to 175 ft-lb, mine only hits 75. I looked in the FSM last night and it's actually between 105 - 112 ft-lb. I will just fab a quick and dirty holder that bolts onto the pilot bushing.
Your build is great.

Re: Adam's formerly supercharged... now soon-to-be-turbo'd,
How are you guys going about tightening the crank pulley? Isn't the torque requirement around 150 ft-lb, I will have to look at the FSM when I get home. I still have my engine on the stand, I was thinking of fabricating some sort of holding wrench to bolt to bushing on the other end of the crank or ...

Re: My ****
No air in the crankcase means no windage loses. Also evacuates more effectively all the blowby gasses and doesn't contaminate the oil. The idea started when it picked up 10rwhp on my all motor itb car years ago. Now its extending the life of the oil in my street car. Interesting, I'm going to have ...

That wheelie plug....man...**** is bananas What is the benefit to the vacuum tank system to the pcv? Shouldn't the crank case still have a need for circulation? Now correct me if I'm wrong but you have the stock pressure sensor on the end and an aftermarket on the side? Where do you plumb in your feed line?

Sorry not dead on picture, kind of old but it came out good. Didn't wrinkle up as much as the valve cover, I don't think I was a liberal with the coating as I should have been.

Nice work, I used the same wrinkle for my intake manifold + valve cover. I'm at the point to where I need someone with a welder to weld the oil return bung on my pan so I can get my engine back in the bay!

I'm not sure what kind of look you are going for with your S14, but have you looked into stripping some weight off of it if you haven't already? Always a good one if you don't want to throw more money at the car. When I was broke in college I was just searching for things to come off my S13.

Re: KA Distributor Stuck, Pioneer in this Fail?
Update for anyone interested, after removing the lower cover last night I decided to give it a go and try to just unbolt the upper. Good thing I did because it came right off, no binding on the idler gear teeth. Tomorrow night I'm going to try and heat it up now that its off the engine to see if I c...

Re: KA Distributor Stuck, Pioneer in this Fail?
Im guessing the only thing i will be able to get in there is a dremel. Going to have to try and mask as much as i can to try and not get chips in my new timing chains etc. hopefully i can get it out with no cutting once i get the lower cover off tonight. Ill see if i can take some pictures and post ...

No just the block was skim cut at the machine shop. I went over there to fit up the new lower cover and the surfaces were about flush, we swept an indicator on them and only a few thousandths difference... The head we rebuilt but not remachined, the bottom surface appeared very smooth to me when i g...

Re: KA Distributor Stuck, Pioneer in this Fail?
Thanks for the suggestion adam. Thinking about it again this morning the upper timing chain cover was a little difficult to line up, my guess is the cometic multi layer head gasket being so thick. Maybe this misalignment caused the housing to bind up the distributor
