I gapped my plugs down this morning to .03 and I'm boosting to 16psi great now.
But my coil hard wire still isn't working.
Hopefully have some time here soon to play with it more.

Searched:Ignition hard wire from tech article not going well
So i just replaced the block and pistons after some piston slap after about 30k miles running 15lbs of boost. She is just about broken in and i ran her into boost the other day. there is a pretty sharp ignition cut right at 7psi. Base timing is set to factory. charging system may be a bit weak. spar...

I lifted the head on a turbo D16 on 4 separate occasions and it sealed BACK each time. Replaced the head bolts with ARP, replaced the stock MLS gasket for good measure. It boosted to 25PSI through a $15 junkyard volvo turbo for 22 drag passes in 4 hours. I do Love Hondas now, and have always sworn b...

i agree with the general conses us that i need a wideband. The **** part is i HAVE a wideband and know how to use it. I just trusted JWT tune too much. my cyl walls are scored pretty bad, esp in the failed #4 cyl. My bearings dont look bad enough to cause the sound i was hearing. I think i was heari...

I know how to set base timing, but thank you for the reference. 2 degrees retarded from what you call the best base timing will not cause this type of failure. I have the decoded .bin file for the jwt ECU and the timing maps are WAY conservative to me. I called CP pistons direct today and got an eng...

Jwt ecu, just set base timing to 18 If I remember correctly. When I have some more time and have paid off some bills I'm going to go with a user programmable ecu of some kid and tune with a wideband. I built this car a long time ago back when I didn't know how to tune an engine, so the jwt ecu was a...

Im not sure the exhaust valve guide seals had much of anything to do with it. But i did have the puff of blue smoke from stoplights. That was my first clue to the seals going bad. The car ran 16lbs of boost 100% of the time. This doesnt look like normal wear and tear to chalk up to excess boost. and...

5 year old Built KA-T teardown questions
Hello, I have a KA-T that is about 5 years, 40k miles old. She has been running strong with few complaints. About a year ago a few of my exhaust valve guide seals went bad after sitting for 6 months. This was verified during an exhaust manifold replacement. I figured no biggie, when i drive this car...

yes you can micropolish but make sure you have a way to keep the cam constantly moving so as not to take too much material off in one spot. Lisle makes a tool that works very well. You can get it at Oreilly, they will have to order it but most of the time they can have it the same day. Part number: ...

there isnt a market for it. the only reason the S chassis is kicking ass right now is cause they are old and cheap and a great platform. If they make another S chassis type car its going to do the same thing the original did. fail. Then once they get a little older and us poor college/and or/young e...

If he runs it to the intake that will defeat what hes done, because stock it runs it to the intake. And i agree, those little plugs may present an issue. .001 is TIGHTER than a 6yr old girl. Take the advise from someone that learned the hard way, that a previos engine builder set tollerances to .0015 and was a contributing factor in its failure. This time i built my motor myself and set the tollerance to .0028, measured with a dial bore gauge, and th...

After driving around town and comming to a stop it goes to about 875, and then i let it cool to 800 before i turn the car off, which usually takes about 3 mins. Re: Another "Please help" thread!
I wired my safc2 in but did not plug the unit in yet, if it is wired in, then the maf wire is cut, and the ECU is seeing no signal from it. So plug in the safc and set it up. And you should be fine If for some reason you wired it and have ommited this part because you knew it would mess up the MAF ...
