Re: Age old distributor off a tooth issue

Its tons of fun with the current housing. I did z32 diff and J30 axles recently so everything but my transmission is up to the task. Might as well shift the power band to the left. I'll hit you up with the compressor maps and wastegating numbers I ran for the .78 A/R housing but, I SHOULD be able to...

Re: Age old distributor off a tooth issue

Just me haha. Ill compare. Running the 264 bc cams and upgrading to a full race mani soon. Changing from .83 to .78 A/R exhaust and twin scroll but keeping the S257 Sx-e compressor side.

Re: Best T3 manifold for the money?

Ah nice. I am switching to a divided housing .78 A/R exhaust on my BW s257 sx-e. Hoping to see spool a few hundred rpm sooner over the open housing .82 A/R i have now.

And, yeah, I am a lucky dude.

Re: Best T3 manifold for the money?

Ah my wife said she was tired of me having manifold issues on the car (that emusa unit that came on the car was a real pita too and leaked at the head) so... i just ordered the full race unit to replace this. Ill probably reweld and post this and the downpipe up for sale down the road.

Re: Best T3 manifold for the money?

well.... speak of the devil and he will appear. I got my first crack today after about a year. I'll be pulling it this week and see if I can get it welded and reinforced.

Right where the #1 primary joins the collector, at the weld.

Re: Best T3 manifold for the money?

ill see if i can find a pic. If the manifold comes back off of the car i'll weld the proper fitting on. Metals have their own unique thermal expansion/contraction rates. You have a stainless steel flange on an aluminum head. The relief cut gives the metal room to expand. Notice how the oem iron mani...

Re: Best T3 manifold for the money?

Happy with my cx racing 11ga so far. I converted the downpipe to 90mm Vband. Should be able to run ac with it but i am not. This is on an s14a btw. No brake master issues ? How long you had it and have you had any problems with the welds cracking? Zero bmc issues. I did have to relocate my ps reser...

Re: p00t's long winded journal from the beginning of time

So Z32 front and s14 rear brakes? If you get the Z32 rear you might not have to change your master but there still might be a tiny bit too much up front. Might be smarter to see how it goes with the z32 in rear first if you are doing it anyway. Your master is ~280psi split point FYI. Yup! and thank...

Re: Megasquirt MS3X KA24DE wont start

Edit: The fact that I am running these CDI coils with a Diy Quadspark might have some significance aswell. Why? Seems over complicated. MS3X should be able to drive 4 logic level coils directly. I'd recommend getting a set of LS coils for a GM truck. The D585 coil with round body and heatsink on th...

If all the coils are getting hot in that one spot, and not the others, seems you have a wiring issue.

Re: Megasquirt MS3X KA24DE wont start

Can't find the manual for the 30-2850, they were superceded by 2854 which are >Here< https://i.ibb.co/VJB7zR2/coil.png So the setting in MS is uncorrected before voltage adjustment, I'd set it for the 14v value of 2.4ms As far as spark duration goes, 5.0 seems a bit high. I'd lower it to 2.0 and go ...

Re: Megasquirt MS3X KA24DE wont start

Nope, distributor phasing doesn't matter one bit if he's not using it to fire the plugs. Only thing in the distributor he is using is the trigger wheel. All he needs to do is find tooth #1 angle, then Megasquirt takes care of sending spark to the correct cylinder. If he ever removes the distributor...

Re: Megasquirt MS3X KA24DE wont start

D21 has some good starting points with the tune file. Yeah, you need to test each coil in test mode to make sure they're even wired up correctly. it's POSSIBLE the PO set it up in wasted spark (basically 1 wire will trigger cyl 1 and 4, the other 3 and 2) but that isn't likely if he's bought the har...

Re: p00t's long winded journal from the beginning of time

I would think you would need bigger adjustable sways with those spring rates, more bias of rate to the front increases under-steer. At least that is what "the books" say. That Progress front unit is a 3 pt adjustable 30mm bar, the rear being 24mm. The Whiteline unit is 27mm up front for comparison....

Re: Megasquirt MS3X KA24DE wont start

I'd start from the beginning and verify the actual install, then verify timing alignment. Good advice from D21turbo and I'll echo that, plus this; http://www.megasquirtpnp.com/docs/mspnp_g2_ns9501_s14.php?isModel=1 That article is for the MS2 but everything about Verifying and adjusting base timing,...

Ah, thanks for the detailed reply. I remember all of my fastbacks shoveling in the corners a bit but I blamed that on shot bushings and dodgy frames. Super jealous. I'd hoped to be at the track in my S14 right about now. You running an accu-sump on your oil system? I saw what you said about your brake bias issue, but, what anti-sway bar setup are you running out of curiosity? I know, completely different chassis but would you say the car tends to...

Re: Supertech connecting rods?

What are your power goals on the engine? 400 or less and you don't need con rods, IMHO, you're fine having the stock rods peened and using them. It's the pistons and ring gaps that matter for boost. I can't speak to the quality of the supertech rods, but, one of the things you need to look at is the...

Re: '95 Zenki KA-T build

Good dyno numbers. Those jive pretty closely to what I just made. We tuned to diminishing gains both in terms of boost and timing and landed at 18-19 psi on 93 octane with nothing else. Was seeing 90F (about a 20 degree delta) out of the intercooler on the dyno around there too. Your coolant temps a...
