Re: after catch can install car smokes at idle and 1st gear

Does your catch can have a breather or a vent on it?

Re: Intermittent lean when in boost.

I assumed the ECU temp sensor was good because I replaced it and soldiered in a new pigtail a couple years ago. That's a good idea though, I'll have to check it one of these days and verify it hasn't failed again.

Re: Spark Plug keeps breaking

Use a timing light to check your base timing, the FSM has instructions. A timing issue may not have surfaced at 8 psi, but shown itself at 15 psi. I'm sure everything is fine and your problem stems from too hot of plugs. JWT knows what they're doing.

Re: Spark Plug keeps breaking

It sounds to me like you have a few issues going on. I would do a compression test (to verify everything is OK), put BKR7E plugs in (gapped at .032), verify your base timing is at 20* (might wanna verify that's what JWT suggests), and replace your MAFS (it's bad). Replacing your MAFS will also proba...

Re: Intermittent lean when in boost.

It isn't always after multiple runs, sometimes it'll do it right after I start the car and let it warm up.

Intermittent lean when in boost.

I've started having a problem with my KA-t intermittently leaning out at WOT. Sometimes my AFRs are perfect in the mid 11s, but then the next time I do a pull it'll be low-mid 12s, or even get into the 13s. The car runs E85, 1000cc injectors, Walbro 450 lph pump (hardwired, and brand new), a Sard FP...

S14 OBD1 and OBD2 ECU interchangable?

Will an OBD 1 S14 ECU plug into an OBD 2 car and vice versa?

Most auto body supply places carry the SEM texture coat or something similar. Otherwise talk to a car audio place, they use it there quite a bit and could probably tell you where to get it.

You'll have to retard timing A LOT to run an engine with that high of compression and a supercharger on pump gas. Maybe I'm too much of a realist, but I don't see this lasting. I don't think you'll ever get past detonation issues, sorry to say. Throw some 9.0:1 or lower CR forged pistons in it and I...

Just for future reference, you can make stuff like that out of ABS plastic in like 10 minutes and ABS plastic is cheap.

Nice job though

What year of 240 is it? If it's an S14 then the factory fan is a 2 speed, one speed for temp and one for A/C. S14s don't need anything rewired, just remove clutch fan and your fine. Mine has been like that for 2 years and I've never overheated.

You should route the oil feed line up behind the engine, it looks much nicer. Otherwise it looks like you are making good progress.

ROS/Exedy...Same?

I had ordered an RPS MAX STREET for my car from SPLparts. The clutch came fast, but when I opened the box up the pressure plate had Exedy stamped in it. The clutch disk did as well. Wondering if anybody else had gotten one like this.

I had an EVO 8 16g that I was going to use with my KA-t, but changed my mind. How do you make a manifold to compliment the twin scroll design? I still regret not using that turbo for my setup, i just didn't want to make my own manifold.
