Re: Adam's formerly supercharged... now soon-to-be-turbo'd,

oh an if youre e85 still, put that timing back up to 20+. My base line starting is 22, hondas like anywhere from 25 to 33 depending on a bunch of things whether they have vtec killers or not and displacement. Our 2j has always been locked at 22 no matter what boost pressure. On nos i do pull a bit b...

Re: Adam's formerly supercharged... now soon-to-be-turbo'd,

i tried adding a "brake booster vacuum pump" to my setup and didnt really help like i thought it would. More testing once i finish the dual rear calipers to be able to build boost standing still. Was thinking of using my ac compressor as a vacuum pump rather than a real engine vacuum pump....

its gonna be a spooler and leaner throughout the band and then richer up top if you dont touch the tuneup. hope you like it. Proof theres more air going through the engine.

Re: Duron's $$$ at Work

I never had a the "street car time" to try and get e85 not to knock. Every time i pulled timing out of the race cars, they just broke up/missfired which is indicative of .......too low a timing value. Ethanol fuels are funny because they get to a point in timing where they just work and an...

Re: Duron's $$$ at Work

So everyone over 600hp on a ka has a ticking time bomb? That's on e85 you mean everyone on a 4 cylinder over 600, 900 on a 6, and 12-1500 on an 8 is waiting for that perfect storm of heat and humidity. Sitting in traffic then doing a long pull through gears. Or that one elimination round where you'...

Re: Duron's $$$ at Work

Those pistons were melted before that drive without coolant. Ill prove it later at work. There is a protective layer around the pistons either by the combustion gases or fuel vapor and detonation breaks that protective boundry and lets combustion heat torch the piston. Is the melted side on the inta...

Re: KA-T on AEM Series 2 Breaking Up on dyno

@Greaser thanks for the input! I will defiantly add those channels to what i will be logging. Is there any negative effects if I were to have too many grounds? yes. will introduce noise into stereo system and electrical system. Re: KA-T on AEM Series 2 Breaking Up on dyno

you should only have one. minimum of 4 gauge. make sure to add "timing errors" and "synch errors" to your log list. They can be at the very bottom of the slow channels, just as long as they are there. If you really wanna get jiggy with it, add "crank tooth period" and &...

Look first for timing errors whenever it misses. Ive had it happen alot. Put a new cas on and usually fixes it.

Re: Adam's formerly supercharged... now soon-to-be-turbo'd,

yea thanks for that. I got rid of mine and tapped/plugged it. I don't want unfiltered oil going into the mains/rods. I'm seriously thinking about going the stainless mesh reusable oil filter route. We really only need the filter to stop stuff that is the size of our oil clearances. There was an arti...

Re: Adam's formerly supercharged... now soon-to-be-turbo'd,

purolator or fram, the cheapest ones. cutting the crank does allow you to get the target .002 or .0025 or even .003 if it was a race engine. I think the smallest oil clearance on my engine is .0015 with some clevites. i would run a bi-metal over a tri-metal bearing depending on power per cylinder. b...

Re: Adam's formerly supercharged... now soon-to-be-turbo'd,

sounds too fast to be rod knock. Dont pull engine out!!!!! get filter cut apart by a local race shop or someone that has the correct filter tool cutter aparter. dont try cutting it yourself with home tools, you'll get metal in there. Basically its a large tube cutter. Look for copper in the filter p...
