Re: Non Sandwich Oil Filter Relocation For KAs
I would also be in for one. I've been sitting on my KA project for like 7 years now and am just starting to get back into it... EDIT: just a thought, if you don't intend on manufacturing any more parts, I'd be willing to pay a bit for a set of drawings/prints that I could take to a machine shop and ...

nice 70 degree day yesterday so I went out for about an hour after work.... I take back what I said about there not being much rust. The sheet metal/frame is cleaning up fine, but most of the hardware is pretty F'd. Ended up fighting with 2 exhaust bolts for about 20 minutes before rounding off one ...

well it only looks like it's eating away on the surface right now. For the stuff I can't remove like the frame rails, I'm hoping a wire wheel followed by some rust encapsulant and some paint/spray on undercoating will hold it off. anything that can come off the car is going straight into the blast c...

Back to work! Now that the weather is getting nicer and it's actually still a little bit light out when I get home I don't mind going out to the garage as much. Picked up right where I left off.. went over and primed some of the rust spots https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-bQ2a-b1OvKk/T1QMArIjWzI/A...

Well I fell off a little with my progress. Between half of my family having birthdays in December and prepping for Christmas I didn't have a ton of time to get out to the garage. I got some sandblasted parts back from my and primed them up. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-qkp4Zk2EY68/Tv55H4p9_pI/...

I had planned on cleaning up my headlights and tail lights so I picked up a Mothers' kit from autozone https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-wICH21bjsXU/Ttqml0YnZ1I/AAAAAAAABqs/obcnsZeXlcY/s640/DSCN1146.JPG It's a pretty nice kit, comes with the polishing ball, a microfiber cloth, polishing compound, a...

I had a nice long thanksgiving weekend and got out to work on the car a bit. First I addressed the issue of my lack of light with 2, 2-bulb 4ft florescent fixtures. they took all of 10 minutes to install, and really brighten up the room. https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-a89FBdGomSw/TtLlqEafFyI/AAA...

Thanks for the tip on the springs. I'm building the car to drift. The plan for the time being is to get the car road worthy again followed up by a Dif and some tie rods; I want to put the basics so that I can have fun with it while I build up the motor and suspension. I have a separate KA block that...

So, snow-tober put a pretty big damper on my progress. We were out of power and I accidentally locked myself out of the garage for a solid week. All together about 8 inches of snow fell. https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-7CmVWW4uVSY/TsA506PMnmI/AAAAAAAABik/R1v0roGW1A8/s640/DSCN1086.JPG I brought an...

ABS LSD modifications?
I've been looking into the Kaaz Super Q 1.5 or 2-Way diff for my S14. Right now my car is abs, vlsd, 5-speed swap with a driveshaftshop.com 1-pc aluminum driveshaft. Enjuku racing says the Super Q diff p/n SAN2745SQ works with the Stock VLSD, but some diff swapping guides I've found state that with ...

Yeah, I hated to leave it like that, but aside from selling it I didn't have too many other options. The leather interior is great, but definitely not preferred for racing/drifting. I would slide around in them so much they might as well have been made of ice. Also, the trailer is primarily used for...

Pinktops S14 build
In 2004, just before I got my license, I became the owner of a 1995 S14. It was a great first car to have through high school and college, reliable for the most part, and easy to fix when it wasn't. I put it through it's paces at a few drift events and did some mods: Coilovers, auto to manual swap, ...

Looks good, definitely better than anything I could put together at this point. I had a question about it though. I may be incorrect but I always thought the diagonal brace behind the seats (top right to bottom left) had to be the solid bar while the cross bar (shoulder height, straight right to lef...

Been awhile since I had the front cover off, but I thought there's a replaceable cover that goes with the oil pump. http://www.courtesyparts.com/ has just the oil pump gears. I would check your front timing cover before buying them though. I cleaned up my front cover and bought a new oil pump gear, and when I went to install it I measured and found out that my front timing cover was out of spec (I had to wail on ...

A sign that my build is taking too long
As with probably alot of you, my engine build keeps getting push back/to the side/around/etc. Summer 2008 I got my block cleaned, machined and assembled with forged internals, since then it has been sitting inside in my dad's work shop (inside our house) on an engine stand under some engine bags. I ...

I have actually been wondering this myself. I know that it is recommended that some of the Chain guides be left off. Something that I've been considering is to try to piece together my own oem rebuild kit from somewhere like Courtesy Nissan, and leaving out the parts what I would leave off anyway. A...
