The KA is barely heavier than an SR, it's not something that you would really be able to feel the difference of driving. Plus, for the price of an SR or RB swap you could build a KA that could take any sort of power that you want to throw at it. I've never thought that the KA-T is unresponsive, it s...

You can pick yourself up a VLSD out of a 180SX for pretty cheap, works great.

I got the whole 180SX rear sub frame for a few hundred bucks. Diff, axles, brakes, bigger sway bar and everything.

Chrysler .42/.48 T3's, you just have to deal with goofy flanges. I believe the 2.3l turbo Mustangs also had .42/.48's But better would be a turbo off of a Thunderbird, if memory serves correctly the manual ones had a .60/.63 T3, and the auto ones had a smaller .48/.63 one I believe. Or fine yourself...

Do NOT tune your car using only an A/F ratio gauge, those things are idiot lights AT BEST. I know, I made the mistake of buying one myself in the past.

You need a proper wideband to tune your car.

Get a turbo off of a Thunderbird... would be a much better match for the KA than a T28. Manuals came with a .60 compressor and .63 turbine, while the automatics came with a smaller .48 turbine A/R

Plus you can get them for pretty cheap.

He's asking for what he might be roughly making on 6psi, not what his turbo could support. I made around 230whp @ 7psi on my AMS GT32 with an SAFCII as the only engine management at the local dyno. I'm not sure off the top of my head the size of the RB25 turbo, but you should be making more than the...

Perfect match, that or the AMS GT32. Either one of those turbos is ideal for your power goals.

You should be able to make it work, but you will have to modify the charge piping to make it fit.

The couplers are probably junk, so if you get a cheap eBay kit you might want to invest in some decent couplers.

Well around here in NW Washington that would be listed for about $4-5000 in our Auto Traders. It's pretty ridiculous. I thought I got a fair price on my hatch for $2500 with an automatic and a busted seat, but I wonder what it would have gone for somewhere else. I swear the prices for S13s have abou...

I have the GT32 and absolutely love it. 50 trim is going to be a good bit cheaper so there's a lot of incentive already. I've never driven a car with a 50 trim on it, so I can't really compare. I got the GT32 when the price was still low, if I was shopping today I would probably end up getting the 5...

Haha, they don't just slap together random turbo bits and pieces, believe me. Their turbos will be just as good as of quality as getting something "direct" from Garrett.

Do yourself a favor and buy an AMS GT32 if you're in the market for a turbo, it more than proves itself.

Electromagnetic suspension is entirely possible, practical (to an extent), and I'm willing to bet it'll happen in my lifetime. Good luck with that turbo. Some people have seen them grenade within a few hundred miles. Literally grenade, with compressor wheel shrapnel in your intake and everything.

Of course, some people have been lucky enough to get more mileage out of them than that.

You can't find out more precisely what the stock block can take until more people are willing to take the plunge and find out. Cory is one of the few examples we have, and so right now everyone seems to think that people like him are more of a fluke. Without more 'pioneers' it's going to stay that w...

Having 7psi at 3000rpm with my AMS GT32 is nice since I go to autocross races more often than I go to the drag strip. Plus having a wider power band is fun on the street since I don't need to really rip on my car hardcore to have fun. On top of all that, it's a turbo that lets me put down good numbe...

If the price is right, go for it.

I'm just saying that his goal of 350-400whp is 50trim or equivalent range. I forgot about the built part, even though it's seeming that with proper tuning a stock block would be reliable at those levels.

Yes we're saying the 50trim and GT32 will spool faster, but they better fit his power goals than a GT35 sized turbo in the first place. So why not get an appropriately sized turbo than go overkill and not use it to its potential? Unless of course you plan on building the motor later and going for mo...

For 350-400whp either a 50trim like what JGS uses or the AMS GT32 are more practical than GT40, which is overkill and you're probably going to be too low for it to be efficient... that's without actually seeing a compressor map. But yeah, get a 50trim or GT32. Another benefit is both of those will b...

Get it tuned with a wideband, also ditch the SSAC manifold so you don't experience the ridiculous amount of trouble I had with mine. If you're tuned right, your motor won't be a ticking time bomb at 350whp. But building a motor is better than being sorry. I'll be running around 300whp here soon, and...

Are you using the GT32 or the JGS turbo? The GT32 should spool a little faster than the T3/T4 offered by JGS, but I think the JGS is capable of pushing a little more power. From what I've heard it seems most people experience strong boost with the GT32 starting at about 3-3200rpm, and around 3500rpm...
