Re: pcv and catch can question
gtrpryde, I had recently thought about doing mine the way you have it illustrated above, but the thing I am seeing as a problem with your proposed setup is that there is nothing pulling the vapors out of the crankcase into the can when the engine is under boost. KA_pcv_diagram.jpg Here is the diagra...

Mallory ignition coils
I have been running on an MSD Blaster 2 coil for about five years now and I am about to change out all my ignition components for new ones. I have seen that the Mallory coils put out between 51-58000 volts with more windings vs. the MSD Blaster coils. Anyone run the Mallory coils before? Does the di...

I am actually running an SR rail on my KADE. The main thing to focus on is not to twist the injectors while pushing them in with new o-rings. A straight push downward is all that is needed. I have ruined many new o-rings by not doing just that. Lower injector o-rings on are super sensitive and I hav...

I was going back through the Fel Pro/Cometic HG threads and started to search around for Fel Pro HG's. They now offer one in MLS for KA's:

Anyone used one of these?

engine management, what do you SC guys do differently?
I dont plan on going SC, but someone I know is entertaining the idea. I would think that since the boost comes on earlier and the powerband of a SC car is different than a turbo car, that your fuel/ignition maps would need to reflect the different powerband. I would think that the fuel side of thing...

high pitched whine from GT28R
Just last night and this morning I noticed that starting between 3 and 4 lbs. of boost my GT28R makes a high pitched whine and then goes away after 4 lbs. or boost or so. What could this be about? Its been watercooled its entire life and has at most 35-40K on it. Any suggestions?

Ive been on a 38mm external gate from the jump, I think that I will probably go T3/T4 60 trim with a top mount manifold. The one thing I am wondering is if I go to a topmount T3/T4, what elbow/downpipe options are there? If I use a JGS log manifold, I could use their downpipe and elbow, but what if ...

This is interesting. I would like to upgrade from my GT28R in the future, and thought about going with a higher flowing GT28 such as the 2871R or even higher. I am curious to know if a GT28/30R turbo with a T2 flange and a .86 turbine .A/R reduces backpressure enough at boost levels above 15psi. I a...

How many of you guys have had an oil analysis done on an oil change after you rerouted your pcv system? I had analysis done recently on 2500 mile Amsoil and it came back with moisture contamination. Now, I am not sure if this is from driving in this cold weather, or if it has anything to do with the...

15 psi on a GTiR T28 with only 370's is pushing it, IMO. That turbo doesnt flow enough air at 15psi to max out the 370's... I ran my T04B H3 (same turbo as the GTiR T28) for 3 yrs at 15 psi on 370 inj ( STOCK fuel press regulator) and always saw the wideband in the mid 10's..... When i dynoed my ca...

Makes sense to me too. I have just been caught in between staying with my bottom mount and saving a few hundred dollars along with not having to change around the rest of my setup or going with a T3 inlet top mount. Either way I'd be up for an injector upgrade and a Z32 MAF, with an ECU retune. I ha...

turbine a/r question
Does a larger turbine a/r equate to any signifigant reduction in backpressure? For instance, on a KA, would there be a difference in exhaust flow between a .64 turbine on a GT28R vs. a .86 turbine on a GT2871 to make it worth upgrading to? How much more backpressure would the latter have vs. your st...

S13 KA M/T wiring
Hello everyone. I swore my reverse lights in my 91 S13 fastback worked at one point. Its a manual. I knew that I had some switches unplugged on my tranny, I have had it up in the air many times. A friend pointed out to me that they didn't work so I checked the fuse, good--did power and ground tests ...

The people who go the cheap route are either lucky enough to find good parts used or are the ones who end up doing it over again. For 350 whp I would just go ahead and get the JGS T3/T4 kit, buy your supporting mods, and get the JWT ECU. EFI Specialist does good ECU tuning for half the price, but th...
