Your telling us stuff about the KA like we dont know..... I'm not indicating you don't know; it was more directed at those that think the SR is some magical motor of infinite perfection, it isn't -- it was built with cost as goal number one. Either case, looks like things may change again, I'll kno...

I drive an s14 and my tranny went out too. I got an s13 tranny to replace it and had no problem bolting it right in, I didnt have to alter anything on the motor or tranny. It will work, but it isn't perfect. The bolt holes aren't the problem, it is the crank angle sensor mounted at the top of the b...

Where did you get the leds for the cluster? I have a supplier for them presently but I remember them be listed on eBay before, so you might try there. They are 194 wedge, wide-angle LED's. They don't work as well as I'd like but they are functional. I will eventually be redoing it with a bulb layou...

My 240sx build up (S14.5)

Here is my 1995 Nissan 240sx, 5spd. I bought it in Feb. of 2005 with 178k miles on it for $1800 as I wanted to retire my 200sx (S12) and I needed a daily driver. It was pretty rough when I bought it but it was in one piece, ran well and the A/C worked. This is the night I brought it home, very nasty...

the only thing good na is the SR cause they can rev to the moon The SR valvetrain is terrible, in stock form it won't rev any better than a KA with an exhaust and CAI. The only downside to the KA against climbing the RPM's is the long stroke, valvetrain-wise the KA (much like the RB and CA) can spi...

I already have the SOHC pistons in my list, NPR offers them for about $80 shipped new. I thought the final compression for a S14 DOHC block with SOHC pistons would net 10.6:1. The reason is that I do daily drive my car, but want to tinker a little too. I have some turbo stuff but am selling most of ...

N/A KA24DE Build

I know this isn't the best spot as I'm no longer going to be boosting my motor (Originally had a T25 and good intentions) However, this is the central location of the best KA-lovers on the net and I figured that some good input could be found here, if not the very least you guys find my build entert...

You might also want to have them take the intake and after porting do a flow test because it seems there is a lot of variance between piston 1 and piston 4's air/fuel mixture. If they tell you they don't have the facilities to do proper flow testing on the head assembly then I'd find someone else to...

I looked through the FSM this morning when I got to work and it appears you are right. I'll verify tonight but that makes the most sense... especially considering the placement of that hole. I'm curious where the spring went though... lol

when I rebuilt my 5 speed I had a ball bearing appear as well. I later found that the ball bearing was for one of the (I believe) 6 detent springs and bearings. look at a fsm, they have great exploded diagrams. Where exactly are these located and how can I best access them? In my RX-7 the detent sp...

Transmission and the loose bearing

The 5spd transmission in my 95' 240sx took a shart last week and I've aquired a 90' SOHC transmission to replace it. I've removed the bellhousing from the SOHC and while working on it the trans tipped over on it's side... when this happened a single ball-bearing bounced out of the shifter access por...

About to clock 205k and I'm preparing to boost. I'm getting another engine ready though as mine already smokes... I've considered just getting that motor ready with the turbo since I dont want to deal with the oil pan on the car.

I've heard good things about their newer batches, particularly the bottom-mounts. Their exhaust components are great, the welds are good and the fitment matches well. My experiances have been positive but we'll see how my SSAC KA/T25 manifold holds up -- as soon as I find one to buy.

Interesting that it'll adapt to any car -- does it use bank fire for the injectors or is it fully sequential? What sort of ignition spark system does it utilize? Hopefully not wasted spark.

Interesting, I'd say it is comparable to the BikiROM, but on top of being a ROM editor, the Biki opens up and fully integrates the stock ECU. I like its configuration above all standalones. I dont think it is fair to say it is just an editor, because in essence they are all editors of ROM's, just so...
