Re: MINI VAN WITH A DIFFERENCE (video Added)
I know I'm late to the party here and the post is old but in case the OP gets e-mail notifications... This is a very unique setup, very interesting. With such long runners how you read your plugs or seen differences in cylinder trims? Do you run an equalizing port linkage at the head side of each in...

While I do support learning through experience, there are things that would benefit through documentation as well. Something like that would do well with figuring it out and sharing. Learning should be understanding what it is *supposed* to do, and then seeing first hand what it ACTUALLY does, not c...

fwiw, the s14 tune 8-bit provided for z32 blow through 550cc dw injectors is damn near spot on for my now n60 draw through/ dw 550cc inj t25/s13 stock cam'ed ka-t. I changed the vq map from the z32 one to the one for the n60 in a calum map (I ripped it from several of the maps hosted and posted here...

S14 type ecu & VE map tuning /nistune or similar
I have been trying to tune via VE table and it does not seem to really make any real difference? Do we 100% realize exactly how the ve trim table functions? Are there instances where it is disregarded as a function, such as with the o2 turned off/ unplugged/ tps idle switch engaged, etc? Only in cel...

I really hate to even say it, but I am an idiot here and found one of my vacuum caps had blown off. I would have reinstalled my old ecu for testing and found bikirom had the same issue I am sure. The car now runs and drives a million times better. I do still have issues with the idle not working pro...

Both of us have walbro's. He turned his o2 off - I did the same thing as well as physically unplug mine with no change. Car seems to just do what the hell it wants after running for awhile. 8 bit you don't happen to have aim or gchat or anything do you? I can call you too. I have a feeling my issue ...

bikirom issues, anyone have old software/firmware files?
So I have had no end of issues with my s14 obd1 ka24de bikirom (like everyone else). Do I have a dead board? Anyone have old firmware/software saved somewhere I can use for testing? I have visually inspected every single solder joint on my biki usb v2 board. I have also today just added the diode &q...

I'm building a basic t25 setup for my s14 DD using stock sr turbo and actuator. I really don't want to lose my shirt on dyno time and it ends at the stock sr 7psi - I have no intentions on this car getting any bigger upgrades. My s13 has the ginormous turbo for that addiction, this is just my dd wit...

holsets are big, you probably need a new manifold to accomodate. Do not run a 5/8 drain on a holset!! You shouldn't even really run it on t3/t4. Run a 3/4 or 1in drain on holsets! Drill and tap the adapters for the appropriate fitting. The ones that come cast on ebay are WAY too small for even a t25...

How about instead making one HEAVIER? The KA has a half counterbalanced engine. You don't WANT to be shaving it down because its not enough as it is. You are wasting your time on performance and hurting yourself on harmonics. Also knife edging in general is crap, think airplane wing - what you want ...

I haven't fixed my tach yet actually... my laptop tells me my rpm and almost never look so I have been lazy. I don't think that will work though because your now tying the ecu into the signal of just 1 cylinder instead of 4 - so you will likely read 25% actual. My plan is just to use the tach output...

oem coil wire can go to coil 1. Personally I ran all 4 new wires to the ecu since I was running 3 others ANYWAYS... Just for consistancy. And you need to run a fresh wire for the charge. I am not sure if the old factory one can handle the charge but I wouldn't risk it. Its just an extra couple minut...

Yea good call on the fuel pump not supplying 100psi - he would need something like a bosch 044 (yum) for that much pressure. I agree on the tune before boost too. Its a lot harder to blow an engine when its NA - boost has a small margin of error available. Plus - going boost your vac map isnt going ...

Just because people do it doesn't mean its a good idea Lots of people don't die of heroin overdose, but heroin is a bad idea. 103psi if fuel pressure is WAY too high. Know why I said 60psi fuel pressure? because it left some safe room - the most I would run on stock injectors is 65psi personally.Ove...

Your map sensor, go boost comp. I have a fully linear boost comp map in my sohc and its the balls. The aem basemaps get the car pretty decently close if your stock - your clearly very far from stock so you wont be. Did you just play with the factory map to get it to run? Did you run the injector siz...

msd box is a waste of time. Its only a ball park device and wont give you the control you can get from a real one. the price is ludicris for a piggyback. If your going to change anything just do it right and get some sort of management. safc is really for low boost ((sub .5 bar), tweaking an afterma...

Evil: You really want to run very close to the same dwell time on ls1 AND ls2 coils - I actually would run a touch lower on ls2 coils- I cut my dwell 8% The wizard ls1 coil dwell timing is a JOKE. Don't disconnect the pcv!! its there for a reason. If you don't properly evacuate the crankcase you are asking for trouble. The best way to blow turbo seals on a retrofit car is to not put the crankcase line to intake - the oil level wont go down and the turbo wont be able to drain properly. Some pe...

I wanted to take a moment to clarify some earlier information. I switched over to ls2 truck coils (the ones with the heatsinks): When people say the colors are reversed, it means the wire for #4 goes to #1, and #3 goes to #2. Harness is fine. I changed from ls1 coils and all I did was swap the order...
