I have a remote start in my civic and 240...both with MT. The claim that it does not work in MT's is the alarm manufacturer cover there arses. Nice thing about most nissans, is that they have a neutral position switch in MT's!! When my buddy installed it on my 240, I made sure he wired in the neutra...

I discovered through other sources, that the R33 rear cables are long enough to reach the S14's T-bar. I'm hoping to get a hold of a pair of those cables this summer to hook them up. my splice is finally working right, but I like th idea of running a solid cable. I'll update my write-up as soon as I...

Oh man, it took me longer that it should have to get my BSEE. I realized long after the fact, that mechanical engineering would have suited me much better than electrical. Loooong hours. I've thought about going back and getting a second degree, or my masters, but all I have to do is think about wha...

IIRC they are identical to the Z32 ones, but their page also doesn't list the steering rack bushings, and they make those as well. Actually, I tried using the Z32 ES bushings and they are not the same. THe Z32 bushing is almost a half inch taller. They will work, but I couldn't get the nut to comlp...

Re: Anyone mess with Honda's !?!
Naw...I wouldn't worry about it. The biggest thing to worry about is making sure his tie rods are good and the toe is corret.

If you arent doing anything wrong, you shouldnt care that they have the power to know what youre doing. I totally agree with this thought. If there's one thing I've learned in my lifetime, is that you worry about the things that you can do something about, and not to worry about those that you cann...

There's only one problem. The freezing point. Granted, my 240 won't be driven in the winter, but if you read the tech info, they pointed out that freezing air from the air conditioner can freeze the fluid in the heater core. Obviuosly, they recommend mixing in normal coolant at varying percentages t...

Actually, I think the question was geared more towards the power output of a KA-T that was built from a bone stock KA or a built KA. Personally, I know that I'll need to build my KA before I do anything. 210K on the clock and still running strong, but I do blow a little oil when it's cold. My build ...
The tire rack carries Power Slot rotors, as does Summit Racing. They are less than $100 each. Summit also carries direct replacement brembo rotors, and they are usually less than $50 each (not sure on the 300zx rotors)

Which Magazine?
I read a magazine, about a year ago, that had a KA engine build-up article. The main reason for bringing it up is that they outline specific locations for tapping into the block for feed and drainage of a turbo. Someone had mentioned that it was Modified Mag, but when I called for a back issue, they...

Wow, I just asked the same thing last week http://www.ka-t.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3591 The general consensus, is that the IIP kit is substandard with a re-welded crank and less than par hardware. The bigger issue, as noted in the linked thread, is that your piston speeds are going to be outrageo...

Don't worry, I've already knocked the idea out of my head. Plus, the numbers you posted for the rod/stroke ratio are spectacular! You pointed out that your sources showed 1.8 being the number, and I've read 1.75. Either way, the KA is right on the money. Maybe I've had some serious misconception of ...

Ahhh...well, that' what I get for not searching....like a damn noob or something. I remember reading on Endyne's site (yeah, hondas, but the theory is there) that 1.75 was the magic number. Combining a CR-V's 2.0l block with the oddball 1.7L crank from a 2nd gen GSR hit very clost to 1.75....they te...

To stroke, or not to stroke....
This idea started in the chat section with different intentions, but it caused me to raise a few questions. Here is the exchange from that thread: I think the stroke in the sohc is large enough as it is, rod knocking in this motor isnt hard to achieve with even a little bit of neglect towards mainta...
I think the stroke in the sohc is large enough as it is, rod knocking in this motor isnt hard to achieve with even a little bit of neglect towards maintanence. I would be scared to even try to do this. Now a bore id be jumping up and down for, that would reduce the chance of rod knock, and thats be...
That really sucks. Too bad it's a half-ass way to do a job right. Why do you think eagle rods are poor quality? Or are the rods they use for that kit just poor quality? I have eagle rods in my civic and it spins past 9000 rpms without any problems. I was hoping they would make some h-beams for the K...
