My old car here?
I have been out of the 240 scene for a long time but was wondering if my old car was still around these parts. I had one of O&J's first manifolds for a 240 single cam with a GT30. Just wondering if whoever has it, is still rocking the single cam. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v142/KingKong82...

You can see in my two pics the heat shielding I used. First time I drove the car with the top mount it melted the wires in no time. I put the heat shielding on and for the two years I daily drove the car I had no problems with melted wires. Here are the pics http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v142/Ki...

Here is what I did. I believe it was -10an lines but I forget. The goal is to have it as straight as possible from the turbo the the oil pan and perpendicular to the ground so gravity will help it come down. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v142/KingKong82478247/240sx/DSCF0717.jpg Only picture of t...

I torqued them to 65 ft*lbs using a brand new craftsman click type torque wrench. It was a few years ago so things could have changed since then. Maybe I backed them out too much or they were something other than DOHC head bolts, all I know is that it pulled the threads out. Just putting my experien...

I was sent DE head studs from AMS when I ordered their rebuild kit. When I went to torque down the studs it ripped the threads out of the block because there was not enough stud threaded into the block. I believe the stud was too short and I backed it out a couple turns like you stated and that is w...

Is this what you are talking about? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v142/KingKong82478247/240sx/tubing.jpg I'm not exactly sure what it is called but I think it recirculates some of the pressure to the PCV valve. Anyway here is all the bolts that need to be removed to take off the front timing cov...

You're welcome from ka-t.org! hahaSil80tt wrote: Thanks again NICO!!
Stick with the SOHC.
So if the head is warped it's not trash? you can just resurface it to be flat? I would think all the valve seats and things would be affected and not seal properly.
When a head warps can it just be resurfaced?

Low RPM Stuttering
So I'm running a stock single cam motor. Between 2k and 3k rpms it stutters like crazy with just a little bit of throttle. It's like power on, power off, power on etc. If I put the pedal to the floor it goes away or if I am above 3k rpms it goes away. I know the wires are good, the plugs look good a...

I wanted to put an update in this thread for future reference to anyone. I was getting a code 41 on my JWT ecu awhile ago and emailed them. I think you can get the student version of AutoCAD for free. I'm pretty sure it has all the capabilities of the original software; it just has watermarks when you print drawings out. You can get it but you need a student email. You get it for a year or so though and you can choose any autodesk prog...

OK well here is what happened. The pistons were getting side loaded and were scraping the cylinder walls. The machinist described the walls as being egg shaped. They must have scraped enough to really wear down the walls and that is why it cracked. Cylinder 2 and 4 had cracks in it. I told him it wa...
