Re: new z33 adapter plate
I posted this in the group buy topic..
What else other than the transmission is needed for this swap? What rear end is needed to match the Z33 6spd & gearing?
Anyone got answers?

Tightening crank pulley
So this is a really noob question but how do you tighten the crank pulley? I bought a motor and that bolt is loose (supposedly it was a good motor but now I'm thinking it's a bad motor because the bolt is loose). The motor is out of the car. Could I tighten the crank pulley by chaining the flywheel ...

Re: HELP?
The car is still sitting and I can't figure out what's wrong with it. Finally broke one of the distributor bolts into the head so gonna have to remove that before I can work on it again. I am thinking about changing the motor and hope that it starts.. For some reason I could never align the distribu...

Re: HELP?
I believe my distributor timing is off therefore the motor turns over and stops then turns over again? :\ Tested the TPS and I'm getting 5v on terminal 1 with ignition on, and I have continuity between terminal 3 and ground. Ohms are reading correct at completely closed, partial, and open. If everyt...

Re: HELP?
. yes it would. I had a knock-off turbo xs bov and the valve leaked under idle ( not to mention it was not recirculated; just vented to atmosphere ). At the time I was also using a z32 MAF. The engine ran pretty terrible and one had to rev it when coming to a stop to prevent stalling... I mean the ...

Re: HELP?
The car starts up fine and idles fine but when I press the gas pedal or pull on the throttle (inside engine bay) the BOV goes off and the car backfires/exhaust makes popping noises. Wait... when you press the gas pedal the BOV goes off? What kind of BOV is installed? . Greddy Type S. I know their k...

Re: HELP?
. So timing was checked and fuel pressure seems to be present (even if its not the "target" pressure). Will the engine start? When the 750cc injectors were swapped over, were the injector "O" rings replaced? A boost leak test may help clear up the bogging issue too, if fuel is f...

Re: HELP?
The weather has been bad lately so I haven't gotten a chance to work on the car; not having a garage sucks. So the first two times I rented the fuel pressure tester before I swapped the bad FPR out the key on PRIME didn't show anything and even when the car was on and running it read nothing on the ...

Re: HELP?
I've been caught up and haven't had any time to work on the car since the last time I tried. I had the Quest alternator upgrade before the car went down. I took the advice here and removed it and took it to test at Advance Auto and it was good so I ruled that out. The battery is fully charged.. I al...

Re: HELP?
So I thought maybe the fuel pressure tester gauge was bad so I rented another gauge and it's still not reading anything. Do I have it set up wrong? There are banjo fittings in the kit that I have no idea how to use and two GM/Ford schrader valve fittings. I use the T looking fitting and hook up the ...

Re: HELP?
How long ago was the engine touched? Long shot, but idler pulley bolt stripped? If your are getting spark and fuel, timing issue most likely. Also, double check compression. Oh man, this can be quite the headache if you don't know what's going on! When mine stripped, I barely made it back home. Car...

Re: HELP?
I've been so busy I haven't had a chance to work on the car until today. I went to rent a fuel pressure tester from Autozone today and connected it like so: http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b77/PaOie-VaJ/fuelgauge_zpsce533996.jpg From the fuel filter it goes to one end of the T rod that goes to the...

Re: HELP?
Try a known-good battery? Sounds trivial but if it's not charged enough to begin with, cars don't always behave right. Had a Jeep that wouldn't stay running. Jumping it off it would start, but even while jumpered off it would not stay running without feathering the gas. Once I replaced the battery ...

Re: HELP?
check for distributor alignment, if you have the valve cover off you can shine a light down the front cover and when you have it timed properly there will be a mark on the gear and on the distributor housing that line up WHEN THE DISTRIBUTOR IS FULLY PUSHED IN it must be fully in as the gear turns ...

Sweet. Thanks for the clarification Matt. Next on the list mitchell is the DIY boost control solenoid. I am going to get one soon. Complete control over when the WG opens is sweet. Good luck and happy boosting!

Re: Multiple Holset Questions.
The compressor housing (intake to maf) is huge and I would love if someone would chime in what size coupler they used (HE341) and the size for the 90 degree bend to the IC piping? I measured the OD's of both but want to make sure I buy the right size couplers. Sorry to bring up and old thread but a...
