Re: Swedish KA-T *Now with new Bosch 2200cc EV14 injectors*

Well, HX55 is a whole range of turbos. Ive seen sizes 64mm up to 72mm. So the small one could maybe handle 700whp and the biggest 950whp. So ofcourse they will spool up very different. I have now been driving the car a few times and it seems to work ok! headgasket seems to be holding fine :-) the fo...

Re: Swedish KA-T *Now with new Bosch 2200cc EV14 injectors*

So I fired her up tonight. Went pretty smooth. The speed signal seems to work good but ofcourse needs to be calibrated. The bluetooth also worked, will try to make a short movie or some pictures of it :-). The HX55 worked pretty good but was a bit laggy on lower gears.I think there are som graphs ea...

Re: Swedish KA-T *Now with new Bosch 2200cc EV14 injectors*

I will try to, I'm very close to starting up now. Probably at the weekend. Just need to change the firmware in the VEMS engine management.
But I have already been using the HX55 for 2-3 years, so I'm actually replacing it with a HX40 now :-)

Re: Swedish KA-T *Now with new Bosch 2200cc EV14 injectors*

Hey :-) How is everything with you? I'm doing pretty fine, a lot of work as usuall so I'm having a hard time putting the car back together at the moment. But hopefully it will be done within a few weeks. I will get my modded ECU back next week, it will alow me to hook up the 300zx speed sensor to my...

Re: Swedish KA-T *Now with new Bosch 2200cc EV14 injectors*

I did replace my front brakes last year with 330mm disc and Hi Spec callipers. I will try to find ome pictures of stuff later. I also redid pretty much the whole fuel system. I ditched my catch can and went for one walbro 450lph Intank pump, together with AN8 teflon fuellines, steel braided ofcourse...

As always with holset there are alot of different version of the same serie.
I have been running an HX52, HX55 and are now currently switching to an HX40....

Why is the HP number maxing out so early and then keeps falling? My guess would be that the turbo can't keep the pressure up since it's maxed out?

There are no problem with hitting waterchannels if you drill like I did :)

I have the same problem :( But I'm going to look at it more during the winter. I just keep driving now and put more water into it whenever it needs. But I'm pretty soon going to take an oil pressure meter and attach it to the cooling system and see how the pressure in the cooling system acts :) I al...

Now I've upgraded to a villager alternater at 110amp. Definitly wasn't bolt on. Had to drill, cut and grind on the alternator and both brackets to make it fit.. also needed a new belt, a 803mm long instead of 775mm. But it seems to do a better job than the old one. Got hold of an DC amp meter and ch...

The turbo is not to big, people are running way bigger turbos than that now adays.....
But since it's an Ebay turbo it might be porly built resulting in really late spool.
My turbo is larger than that and I hit 5psi by 3500rpm in third gear

Did some driving yeasterday, put my old sparkplugs in and the loggin problem is gone :) Seems like there is a bit of difference with the new compressor cover aswell, full boost is just as late as usuall but it seems like i see positive pressure a bit earlier(0.1bar before 2000rpm!) and it also wante...

Yes a HX40 would be to small on that engine :) A HX60 should be good for almost 1000whp on the right engine. On smaller engines they usually dont't get more than 900whp becouse the presseru ratio gets to high. Most holset want to stay below 2,5bar. 2bar is usally a good place to be :) This is only b...

Hmm, I don't think you will have a surge problem since the al have a "antisurge" compressor housing. Atleast I never heard about anyone having surgeproblems.... I'm running a HX55 without any problems, but they are really huge on the outside and spool pretty late.... How much horsepower ar...

There are like hundreds of different versions of those turbos. The HX52 and HX55 are very simular and have compressor inducers from 64-71mm. The turbine are between 70-81mm and there are both T4 and T6 flanges. Housings are anything from 10cm2 to 25cm2 The HX60 is larger and most of them has a 76mm ...

Does the crank really make that big of a difference for the torque curve? Of course the stroke and bore will make a difference but if you just consider fcw against half counter weights? Isn't more about intake runnerlength, cams and exhoust manifold length to get the power where you want to have it?

Did you find any info? Seems like the cars with high horsepower runs lots of adv on high boost. Like over 20degrees at 30psi....I run 23 at about 14-15psi at the moment.

But also remember that car manufacturers also have alot of emmsions rules to consider, they aren't tuning for maximum power :)
