The new power steering cooler and relocation worked very well also. After a full session there was just a little ATF around the top, compared to half of the engine bay soaked with it. I am pretty satisfied with my new setup, like Rob stated only thing now is to do some hood venting and she will be ...

I have a Mocal thermostat plate and a B&M cooler. It was mounted in the lower passenger fenderwell on my S14. I'll probably mount it there again on this new S14 too. On the S13, the vent there is smaller, but I'm sure you could enlarge it and maybe even throw in a plastic duct from Racerpartswho...

Yea, no room for 2 cars. I don't even have a garage to work out of. Tires and pads actually don't cost that much, I've done 7 lapping days on a set of Kumho MXs that are still going strong. Bad alignments and burnouts are what really kill tires. I hate to keep bumping this thread because it's somewh...

I hear that, although I'd stay tinkering with my car is more of a stress builder for me since it seems like I'm always chasing down some problem. Track days = complete release though, there's no room for anything else to go through your mind when you're correcting for a slight slide exiting a corner...

Thanks Lance- I'm definitely going to test the WG once I pull it. I'm swapping all my stuff to a different chassis this summer so it all has to come off. I'm just on the spring pressure, no controller. I was going to get one but didn't bother once I always ended up having more boost than I wanted. I...

Thanks for the input. Its interesting to see all the different opinions. I don't take my car to the strip, I do open lapping days, things like that. A little autoX, but mostly I find that too boring. Its actually a lot of fun to do, even with a slow car. That just means corner exits aren't as explos...

^ Dude's not wearing safety glasses, shame on him! On a serious note: Oxygen doesn't "burn hot"- you need oxygen for a combustion reaction to take place. It's the fuel that determines how hot something burns. But, if you're using pure O2 instead of air, there's going to be a lot more O2 in...

Here's my dilemma. I currently have a GT32 setup on my stock KA. I use the car for street driving and track events. It did fine at the first event I did with it boosted, but I have a boost creep issue (think I messed up my JGS WG diaphragm somehow) and my clutch is slipping, probably from a leaky re...

What fuel pressure do you guys run? Get a $10 inline gauge from summit to check it at idle. My FP was way high on the stock FPR and Walbro fuel pump, I had to get a Sard FPR to knock it down back to stock (43.5 psi w/o vacuum line attached).

Keeping all the stock ducting and bleeding the system properly (with an appropriate mix of water, coolant, and water wetter) should be fine for 95% of people on this board. Its only on the track that cooling really becomes a concern, and even then an oil cooler should be sufficient to keep you cool ...

Anything other than the stock 3 pt belts isn't really safe without more roof support, i.e. a cage. Then, you should probably drive around with a helmet on since there are metal bars close to your head, depending on how the cage is designed. Just read up a lot on this stuff, you don't want the safety...

Its really all or nothing. Harnesses prevent you from ducking to the side in an accident, so you need something to keep the roof from collapsing. Plus, you need to mount the shoulder straps within 15* of vertical, and having a proper rollbar or cage with a harness bar is the only way to do that.

That B-Magic one has kind of a lame looking vent with questionable placement. You could get a Uras vent molded in, like this: http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a160/turtl631/jdrd1.jpg You get to put it where you want, and if you get it done well and paint over it the hood will look really good. How do you guys feel about having to look down to see the gauges? I barely have time to glance at mine under full boost and they're on top of the dash at the same distance as the cluster so I don't have to refocus.

1. Nice work, but did you think about finishing with that textured paint that sorta matches OEM plastic? Russ did a writeup on this on FA a while back I think. A credible source told me he leaves out the top few that are a total pain to get to. I did it last time I swapped my clutch. No problems yet, and the next clutch job will be way easier:)

And yes, ratcheting wrenches are key, for lots of other stuff too. I wouldn't touch my car without them.

Does your rad touch your IC? Mine is set up similar to this and the rad heats up the IC while sitting in traffic, etc. Not sure how it'll do at the track, I'm at least gonna duct it first.

Blowing air over the engine does almost nothing compared to the cooling system. In addition, you don't really want to be putting that extra electrical load on the engine during full boost runs, especially when the engine isn't even running hot. Just set it to run based on temperature.

How long could you expect a 6 puck to last with normal driving, i.e. not doing burnouts every day. I've read that they wear out flywheels much more quickly than organic discs. I don't want to have to replace it in 10K miles just becuase the clutch is so aggressive. Thoughts? Aside: CC also makes the...

Good post veilside. I agree on avoiding the cheaper spring/shock combos. Either go the koni yellow/GC route (and get dampers that are a known, good quantity) or get some of the "better" cheap JDM style coilovers. I'd stay stance- i run them and they seem to work fine on the track. You also...

With R comps like NT01s (great choice btw, or RA1s, for good r comps that last a while), you'll need a lot of camber. So you might get away with stock control arms, especially in back. MIght need toe arms to avoid ridiculous toe though, and the tension rod bushings are so sloppy that the aftermarket...

To get around a 25" rolling diameter you'll need super low profile tires, and it'll look retarded. The rest of your post wasn't even coherent. If you're asking about wheel sizing on ka-t.org, you're gonna have a hard time getting 19s to fit properly and still have some usable steering angle and...

19s look stupid on these cars, and a 19x8 is weaksauce. Try to find some 18x9, 18x10 wheels if you want something flashy. Offset will depend on the tires you run, how low you go, etc. Read on zilvia and such to get an idea about what will work well, they have lots of picture threads about this.
