Re: Head Porting resource! Learn how here!

The speed of sound ~1125 fps @ 70*F, is a limiting factor for air speed (super sonic nozzle). I've observed from online research on intake and exhaust port velocities, people have "rules of thumb" stating target mean air speed velocities, and percentages of the speed of sound. Usually this...

Re: Head Porting resource! Learn how here!

I took some rough measurements of the intake ports and calculated air velocity at different cfm of air flow. Based off of my initial measurements it's no wonder why the ka responds so well to boost... I'd feel better if someone else independently posted some numbers based off their measurements of t...

I recommend verifying your ignition timing with a timing light. It should be solid @ idle with no jitter (I noticed +/- 3* jitter with the incorrect dwell settings). If you are overdwelling your coils, they will fire on there own when they over charge. Timing will advance with rpm. Set your ign timi...

These are nothing to be proud of, but here they are anyways. I was battling a misfire, cold engine temps, and boost control issues causing late spool. ignition timing was super conservative, and a/f ratios were never dialed in. I'm optimistic that 10 psi will net me 300 rwhp, and much more torque do...

Supa, I was just digging around through your MSQ, to see what your dwell settings were at. Are you running LS2 truck coils? 5.5ms is very high for LS2 coils. Do you have the oem dwell vs battery correction curves entered into your MS? I've had lots of issues with the LS2 truck coils because of their...

My current favorite mod is Front knuckles/drop spindles. A shortened steering arm increases the steering ratio, & The response and feedback is amazing, it's one of those things you have to experience to understand. Shorter steering arms is right up there with shocks/springs/coilovers.

Hhhhmmm.... For the PnP' ECU's, you'd think they would use a bias resistor to suit the oem clt temp senser, rather then use the same standard GM clt bias resistor.

The GM bias resistor works ok for the Nissan clt temp sensor, but it's not optimal.

I hope you put a radius on the lip of the combustion chamber. Sharp edges cause hot spots and detonation. I chamfered all of the combustion chambers by hand. Plumbing in coolant lines for the turbo using -4an ptfe braided stainless hose. Probably one of my favorite hoses to make. They always turn out so clean!
