The twin-scroll GT3071R is pretty good with a KA for autocross.

To keep a GT35 spinning you'd need a bunch more displacement or a bunch more revs than a regular KA, at least for autocross. It'd probably work great at the track though, especially twin-scroll'd.

Video of a test run late today. Not a good example of driving as the course was dirty and the tires were cold. I hope to get some better stuff tomorrow.
Youtube really made this one look yucky, the 25MB one I uploaded looked great...

At first, things were fine with my car, then all of a sudden it wouldn't start with the same MX Sync Test value and it got all hokey when the car was cold. Swapped to a spare distributor, and things *seem* to be okay now, hopefully they stay that way, and it's not just the warmer weather. If somebod...

oes, In order to start my car when cold, I have to set MX Sync test to 9 - and it sorta half-fires for a split second, and in that split second, I have to switch back to 8, at which point it mostly clears its throat and revs up. It continues missing though (stat sync being lost/found) until it's ful...

Seems like a lot of us are having issues with the stock CAS and the AEM EMS:

I think the S13's ABS system works very well in a racing situation when the rest of the braking system is functioning properly. When you're braking at the limits, unless you're going in a perfectly straight line, the lighter (inside) tire is going to want to lock up, and without ABS there's nothing ...

For street, drift, or autocross, I'd recommend the twin-scroll .78 3071R. 250ft-lbs @3000, 400ft-lbs. @3700 and about 430whp at 20 pounds, with completely stock internals. For drag or track use, the GT35R would give a bit more top-end, with some impact to spool. I haven't seen a twin-scroll GT35R dy...

Ahh yes, you're right about the offset, but it's only a -8 then though. It's the rear LCA that interferes, and it interferes at all times, but moreso when the suspension is in the bump part of its travel. One of the goals in building a big-tired autocross car is to keep the rear of the car as narrow...

I have to run spacers on the front at the moment, about 20mm worth, so it's effectively a +32. The rear has about 20mm worth also, but the interference is with the chassis, not the spring. I had to notch my rear lower control arms to make them fit. I have some issues with the AEM EMS, I'll research ...

The hood uses the stock latch also. The extra pins are really just to hold it down at the corners so it looks better. That I haven't gotten to the pass. side pin should be indication of how much I've been thrashing to get everything else done... :) The good news is that I FINALLY got the PS pump I n...

Cory, I plan on running 20-21 pounds eventually, since that should put me in the sweet spot of the 3071R. I figure that'll be safe on 109, maybe with some C16 thrown in on hot days. I'll get some pics of the big tires on the car tomorrow, haven't put them back on the car yet. I hope they fit under t...

Well, managed to get the car ready today. Have 10 gallons of Motorsport 109, and 5 gallons of C16 at the ready. I couldn't believe what a HUGE difference the fuel pump relay trick made for my Walbro. Maybe my stock wiring was weak or something, but it completely changed the sound of my pump when the...

So the motor is mostly together now. Some of the latest stuff I've done (resistor box) was a bit rushed, trying to get ready for a race this weekend. Going to dyno on Thursday. Tomorrow gotta get the inner and outer fenders reattached, wire in the fuel pump relay, and the Crane CD box (dang that suc...

I am a turbo tard - BOV moves under vacuum at idle?
So I finally got my car running today. I noticed that at idle, the BOV gets "sucked open". The vacuum line runs to the inside of the manifold. Is it normal for it to do this? I took the BOV (TiAl 50m) off at it took quite a bit of thumb pressure to unseat it and get it to open. I could com...
