Re: wideband not matching ecu
It is common for the AFR gauge and what is logged on your computer to be different, especially with innovate widebands. This is typically due to a grounding issue. Innovate recommends that your ecu, LC2, and gauge all share the same ground post to address this issue. Another issue could be the progr...

Re: My KA build
You won't need A/C and PS in an 800whp ka-t powered 240sx, because it is not going to be a good street car (lag city). You have a decent parts list there, but that list is not even 1/8 of the cost it is going to take you to make a reliable 800whp ka-t street car. The good news is that it is easy to ...

Re: E85 Timing
BigLouKaT and Matt are both spot on. The burn rate of the fuel is independent of RPM and VE drops off at higher RPMs. Both of these facts say you should have more spark advance at higher RPMs. You should be careful with adjusting for the VE drop depending on what type of fuel management you have. A ...

Re: E85 timing at 20 psi
Maybe a little late...
I used to run ~20* at 16psi with e85, but I was running a smaller turbo (50 trim). 16* at 20psi certainly seems like it is in the ballpark, but be careful. All setups are different.

I'm a CHE here, and I'm just getting into "computer science" stuff. I've been tinkering around with an Arduino, and it really helps accelerate learning.
I understand all of the above and still think that programming the output to 0-2.5v is the best option.

Re: Nismotronicsa
I don't know the impedance of the A/D circuit in the factory ECU, but I'd guess it is on the order of 10M. 2.5 volts / 10Mohms = 0.25uA For the most accuracy you want the ratio of AD current to total circuit current to be small (low resistance in voltage divider). The trade off is power consumption....

When did you check the compression/leakdown? Before the car died in your driveway or after? It could have very well jumped a tooth. If I were diagnosing this vehicle I would make sure my mechanical timing is correct before moving on to checking EFI components. Checking the mechanical timing is as ea...

For some odd reason nissan refers to it as the ECCS relay in the FSM and in the parts catalog, but they label it EGI on the fuse box. On S13s I think it is in the fuse box by the battery.

I wouldn't be surprised if the fan pulls more than 20amps. It's not uncommon to have a 40amp fuse/relay for each fan on newer vehicles.

if your not going to use it dont be afraid to fubar it. sounds like you need more leverage.... id try a large pipe wrench, maybe even with a jack handle over it. theres alwas torches too. Re: Electric Fan through Calum RT
After some research I have found that the manual transmission FWD ecus have two, single speed fans and a single relay. Because they don't have a manual clutch fan, I figured they would have had factory two speed fan control, but I was wrong. Basically, the fan system is exactly the same as an S13 (s...

If this is a sentra ecu you should have satisfactory fan control built in from the factory.

Looks beautiful to me. I'd be extremely happy with that power band and power.
My only critique/advice would be to upgrade your rods. At these power levels the stock rods are a little sketchy. I definitely wouldn't rev it any further with the stock rods.

Re: Odd problem with TP and Temperature
At lower ambient temperatures the TP should be higher for a given manifold pressure. Changing TP with ambient temperatures should be expected. Pressure * Volume = Moles * Gas Constant * Temperature PV = nRT Rearranged: n = P*V/(R*T) For a given pressure and volume, the moles of air increases as temp...

Re: boosting in 1st and 2nd gear
Could be spark blowout. Have you tried changing your plugs? How old are they and what is the gap?
One time my car had spark blowout that only seemed to happen in 1st gear. My plugs were old and a new set solved the problem. It's kind of a stab in the dark, but plugs are cheap.

Re: New KA-T Idle Issues
I'll do a boost leak test tomorrow as well. I have a feeling its a combination of a small vacuum leak and the exhaust leaks I found tonight that are causing a lean signal at the O2 sensor causing way too much fuel to be dumped. You should definitely fix the exhaust leak and do a boost leak test, bu...

Re: New KA-T Idle Issues
I'm curious if my MAF is too close to the throttle body. I left the mesh on both sides of the MAF to hopefully make the incoming air more laminar but am afraid there is too much of a bend/too close to the TB. Thoughts from blow-thru users? It's possible that the MAF position may cause idle issues, ...

Re: New KA-T Idle Issues
It makes more of a difference than you would think. I'm not saying that it is your only problem or that it will fix all your idling issues.
Trying to diagnose idling problems without fixing a known vacuum leak is nonsensical. First step: fix the vacuum leak.

The way you have your crankcase vent and MAFS setup is definitely an issue right now. You are drawing unmetered air into the crankcase (via valve cover vent), through the pcv valve, and into the intake manifold.

If you machinist says to use STD bearings then the journal to bearing clearance is probably ok (never hu...

Re: Crank Clearance, need advice!
I think the clevites (STD journal size) come oversized on the thrust surface. I would recommend going with a different brand of main bearings. Clevite is a good brand, but for some reason they have oversize thrust surfaces for our motors. Search the site for "clevite thrust" and I'm sure y...
