Re: Fastest 10second car?

Thanks for the replies so far! I like the KA's too for ease but I am thinking about staying away from a 4 cylinder just because of the boost amounts we run to get high hp really works the engines hard compared to lower boost on something bigger. My girlfriend drives a G and yeah they're very tight i...

Fastest 10second car?

Hey guys, been a long time member, long time away! I sold the 240 after it just cost me wayyy too much money for a college student, I rebuild the entire car twice over and sold it to a drift guy out of san antonio who said he was puttin a large RB in it! The general chat is pretty slow nowadays so I...

Re: Starting Issues

First, those compression numbers are BAD on 1 and 3. I don't know the exact numbers, I know 120ish is good for stock, low comp is probably 100 or so, but being even is more important than anything +/- 10% or so. Does it have fuel? Are you getting spark? These are things you need to go check first an...

So getting rid of the elbow and just having the fitting? Or adding a fitting on it for a water line ?

Re: Machinist Question to the Public!

If you can make a billet fuel tank cap like this one: http://www.ka-t.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=509577#p509577, I"ll be your best friend. I'd have to look into a little more of what the fittings and such would be, but I could absolutely make one. IF I had an old one to reference for size it w...

Machinist Question to the Public!

Hey guys, it's been a while since I've last posted, but I have a question for everyone! I know this belongs in the fabrication section, but I feel this is the most active channel, and I would receive the most feedback, so please humor me. I have attained a job at a machine shop with a lathe, mill, g...

I only skimmed through the thread, but I have the dual n1 on my s14, and it's really loud, and doesn't fit well at all. I would stay away from it, unless you just want something loud and have $160 burning a hole in your pocket.

Lucky or not... i had to pay $104 to have the driver side halo fixed. Bumber-to-Bumper extended warranty... but bulbs aren't covered. There seems to always be a gray area... who ever heard of a $100 bulb replacement!? Jeez.. On the bright side, i test drove an M3 Sedan while i waited on my repairs....

That really does suck about the kid lying. It sounds like what happened to me. I buy this motor for $250 that is "Freshly Rebuilt" but the dude sold his car. I get it home, and he must have left it uncovered outside because when I pulled it apart to make sure it was rebuilt right, the 4th...

I didn't read your post before I posted, sorry.

Yeah the ABS 5-speed is much bigger than the non-abs version. I didn't know that auto/5-speed made a difference.

Don't leave the engine cocked to one side, it wasn't designed to sit like that and you will likely see problems. Also, if your gonna be raising the engine make sure you can still close the hood. If they are that close together you will likely see braking problems due to the extreme heat the BMC will...

I have heard that water works really good at de-carbonizing an engine. i have never tried though. you do it the same way as sea foam. VERY SLOWLY. very hot (atomizes better) deionized water was recommended. bottled water is cheaper than seafoam. i might try it on my honda and see if it works how ab...

I used to have a little craftsmen electric power washer, and I have done this to my engine before. Make sure you cover the parts that you need to (seems like you know). Spray the engine with a degreaser of some kind and let it sit for a while before you spray it. When I sprayed mine I made sure not ...

I will paint my fmic black when I get it, that will keep it somewhat sleeper.

This is good for a car that can support it, but for a street car without major modification and ducting, it's not worth the additional boost response to sacrifice the cooling potential of the intercooler IMO.
