Re: hardbody DE swap (56k beware)
To clarify I used all the motor mount pieces from the truck on the 240 motor, besides the oil pan the motor just bolts right up. I had to drill the holes out on the motor since the bell housing and starter had threaded holes to mate up. I sold the truck and am hoping to move onto something awd with ...

Redneck fab.Hot tap water and house heat powered by firewood
Im going to be building this soon to heat my small home and have hot water. Its off the grid and theres unlimited firewood. It will be uphill so the hot tap water will be easy, the house will be heated via an old ford van radiator and electric fan built into a false cabinet. I'd love to do something...

Re: portuguese 240 ka
Sounds like you have IACV issues. There are two idle valves (automatically open and close with temp and AC) The main one is the IACV on the back of the intake in the curl of the runners. The IACV works as an idle speed screw to adjust your idle RPMs in real time. It might be unplugged. They also get...

Re: Nissan discontinued ka24de oil pumps...? WTF
I've never actually had one fail or "wear out". I think you can generally just clean/rebuild and be fine. If youve taken them apart after high mileage the steel gears wear into the aluminum cover, this creates a place for the pump to leak internally and loose pressure/efficiency. This tak...
Re: open dump
I think its a fun sound in an otherwise quiet car but its hard to hear detonation over it, so i wont ever be open dump unless i have a really nice EMS and knock detection, and a lot of faith in it

I vote MS3. The options are very nice... Plus you can always take it to any other car or engine if you upgrade
Re: open dump
It shouldnt backfire normally. The TPS adjustment should take care of it
Re: open dump
Check that your TPS isnt loose, voltage is correct at idle and reset the ecu. It will think the throttle isnt closed and still be adding fuel.

Luk pro gold on D21 flywheel holds at least 350 and has a stock pedal feel. I cheaped out and got an auto store replacement when my luk pro gold went out... it slips badly between hard shifts even at 5psi on my T4 after being broken in.

My opinion = Extra wear on turbo for no reason. How much? I dont have a clue, air reverting back through it cant be good.

My buddy finished up my megasquirt 3 v3 for me. I plan to eventually tap all my gauges into the MS for datalogging and alerts. This will allow me to hide my AFR and other gauges. Im going to keep the oil psi, oil temp and coolant temp gauges i have installed. Full sequential fuel and spark, MAP sens...

Re: Any reviews on Five 0 Motorsports?
Just like diesel has a lot of lubricants, gasoline has some lubricants. E85 has almost none. I put about a teaspoon of motor oil or lucas fuel injector cleaner (its oily) in with the tank of e85. Didnt have any issues but its good to know it happens! I wouldnt worry about it if i was just running on...

Stainless steel braided hose and AN fittings would prob be the easiest good solution. Running hard lines would be nice, it would be a little extra work but will be a nicer solution in the long run.

One of the basic things i havent had great luck with. Ive had them seal if the surface was super clean with a little RTV. I like the JB weld idea, but i agree... how are other people doing it? Online i just see people tapping them in and go.

Hey buddy, which version of megasquirt are you running? Youre on the PNP if i remember correctly, its been a while. Which coil packs??
Im upgrading to a similar setup with MS2v3, T4, heat sink LS2 coil packs.. wondering if your map was close enough to use as a starting point.
