Umm...please explain what is going on at 2:23. Is the guy in the back smelling the big guy's ass or is he trying to pull down his pants for a better view?

Looks like that supercharger wants to fall off while he is driving it hahaha.

If you are still considering a 57 trim. I've got a new Turbonetics 57 trim with a ported compressor outlet and ported turbine inlet with the stage 3 turbine inside a .63 A/R housing.

500 to your door.

It also turns the crank into a wear item. It is not recommended unless you are going for every ounce of power possible from your setup.

The rattle seems to be hit or miss. Mine never rattled but my friend's did at the time. Not sure if this could be solved with a better bushing, stiffer springs or what.

Turbo experts, please come in...

So I recently picked up a new Turbonetics 57 trim with a .63 A/R stage III turbine housing for stupid cheap. It isn't the 50 trim that I had been looking for my MR2 but it is pretty close. I've noticed that many people complain about surging issues with this turbo so I've been trying to find a way t...

Where did you copy this from? He died in a helicopter crash. You are reading it wrong, Colin McRae died in a helicopter crash in 2007 and in his memory, the rally event was named after him. A competitor, James Girvan, died during the competition and the organizers cancelled the remainder of the eve...

Make sure you don't have any parts of the variable vane system holding it together, then use a rubber mallet and hit the turbine housing in a star pattern.

You also need to take into consideration the turbine housing. The maximum power of a turbo is determined by more than just the compressor.

You should put some fluid in the rack and then loop the rack lines together, not the valve lines.

You need to search a bit more. There is an entire write-up on this.

To make it work properly, you need a SOHC alternator bracket and alternator tensioning bracket as well as a SOHC thermostat housing. The original that was used for the power steering on the DOHC should suffice.

The issue with the cheap manifolds is the tube wall thickness. It is nothing close to what is necessary to make the manifold reliable. I ran the OBX manifold for awhile and even did a write up on it. It was pretty good but I wrapped it which probably shortened its life considerably. Either way, I to...

I ran one as well with the anti-surge housing. I loved the turbo and I personally think that it is the perfect pump gas street turbo for our cars. Spool is great and it makes pretty good power. I've heard they don't do really well at high boost levels but I never ran more than 15psi so I can't give ...

The intake build would be mainly for looks. Assuming if I don't make the plenum larger than factory, it should change the power band much if any, or am I way off on the subject? If you have to ask then you probably shouldn't make an intake manifold in this case. I'm not trying to sound like an ass ...

I hope so, just the fitment is tight to say the least. How does it sound driving around and how is off-boost driving?

I hear that it is much louder than any other turbo in its class and that off-boost driving is pretty reasonable.

Not too bad. I like how it continuously makes power. I have 2 HX35's and a WH1C sitting on my desk. I plan on using the DSM .55 A/R housing on my MR2 build. I figure it should go well with the 2.0 liter and I don't plan on making anymore than 300-325 whp.
