^^^ Yea i understand that but, if im increasing the boost that means a higher chance of detonation right? I want to run race gas for more psi, not more power at the same psi. I mean does a retuned ecu automatically back off the timing more with higher boost. Ive seen my knocklite go off on really ho...

Tuning for race gas?
I want to see how much I can get out of my current setup so I am going to start running race gas and as much boost as I can. Im trying to figure out what I will need to do as far as tuning. Right now I have an EFI ecu tune with an SAFC 2. t3/t4 turbo. Also have a knock lite. Should I be able to get ...

Disabling knock sensor. Keeping knocklite
Im pretty sure my knock sensor is picking up fasle knock so I want to disable it. But I want my knocklite to work still. Ive heard about the 1 megaohm resistor, but im not sure exactly how it works. From what ive gathered the resistor has to go in between the signal wire which goes to the ecu and a ...

Coilovers and overfenders finally installed!
Just installed my KTS coilovers along with the b-magic 30mm overfenders that came with my body kit. The overfenders dont really line up the same on each side and one seems to stick out a little farther than the other, but oh well. Ive known for a long time this will never be a show car lol. Now I ju...

^^^ Thanks for the link. My local track wasnt there so I used the next closest one. According to that my trap wouldnt really change any. So im really starting to think somethings wrong with my set-up. I do know I went from a 77mph trap at 9psi to this 86mph trap at 15psi. If this sounds like an aver...

What elevation are you at? There's lots of room for improvement in your setup. I ran 8.15 @ 88.9 on a t28 at 8lbs with a full weight base model coupe. Your trap is pretty weaksauce for how bad your 60' was. Unless you're in like the mountainous region of VA. Im not really sure about elevation. I li...

work on your 60 ft. man I'm sure you can bring that 1/8 down to low 8's with a better launch and better tires. Right now that's kind of weak sauce off 15psi. My last 1/8 mile was a 7.8@92.5 off 7psi. my s13 is gutted though. What turbo are you running? What wheels/tires? What rpm are you launching ...

Not sure if anyone mentioned this but one thing to consider. Think about when you need a simple little part like a gasket or sensor. With the ka or 2jz for that matter you can just run down to the part store and pick one up within a day. With an rb your gonna have to order it. It would suck to miss ...

Thanks Matt and yea thats what I figured. Guess ill just have to drive carefull til i figure this out. I moved my mafs from inside the bumper to under the hood. This did nothing. I checked the ecu for codes and came up with #34 (knock sensor). It definatley feels like it is pulling timing at times s...

Are my afr's unsafe? Look here tuning guru's!!
Ok so ive been fighting my afr's for a while now and I think im almost there. Idle- 13.XX-16.XX Mostly right around stoich though. Cruising- 14.XX-15.XX (with an occasional flash of 13.XX and 16.XX) WOT- 11.XX My major concern is during low boost/partial throttle situations, im seeing 13's-14's. Lik...

For removing the valve clips, you can make your own tool. Get a big c-clamp, a decent sized socket, and a small magnet (the rod shaped type). Cut a section out of the socket (the bigger the better). Put the solid end of the c-clamp on the valve. Then, put the socket on the valve retainer, and the ot...

Well I prolly cant help you much since me+electronics=more F bombs than Superbad. But on the oil pressure question. If that is 20psi at initial start-up, then id say thats way low. Especially for a rebuilt motor. I see ~65psi at initial start-up, ~30psi after idleing for a looong time, and 20psi aft...

To anyone having this problem- Theres a good chance it is a bad CTS. Or your TPS is bad or needs adjusting. I replaced my CTS and adjusted my TPS at the same time, and problem fixed. So im not sure which one fixed it, but I believe it was the TPS. I was getting .37 V with the throttle closed, adjust...

TPS and Z32 mafs voltages. SAFC 2 sensor check. Questions.
1st off what exactly are the specs for the z32 maf voltage? Mine is about .46 w/ ignition on and car off. I know the tps voltage is suppose to be .4-.5 volts per fsm when the throttles closed. But what is the spec for throttle open? Everyone seems to get around 4.5 volts, but mine is more like 4.2 v...

Next couple things I plan to try are 1) Move pos. battery cable farther away from ecu. 2)Take one of the grounds from my z32 mafs and ground it to the chasis. (currently both are going to the harness) 3)Mabey add a ground from the battery to the engine bay. And if none of that works, move my mafs to...

Well I **** with the car some today. Swapped over the CTS and coolant sending unit (or whatever it called) from my other S13. Also found out my TPS did need adjusting so I did that. Now when I first start it, the afr's are on the higher side (fluctuates from 14-20, but mostly 15-17). Idle is also re...

Hey any update on this guys. I havent replaced my temp. sensor yet, but plan on doing so soon. But, I was wondering if this could be mafs related. What mafs (if any) are you guys running? Blowthru/pull type? Im thinking mabey my mafs could be bad, because my afrs are ALWAYS all over the place. No ma...
